Hello everyone,

I would love to move my site (the domain name, contents) from it's present host to another. Please, how can I do this? I need all the help I can get.

Thanks

Backup your db within your cpanel and save all files within the public html.

Move the files into the new public html and then do a backup restore on your database into the new cpanel.

      Hi

If you don't already have your host you might find one that will do that for you. I did that some are really obliging

As far as the domain name goes if it isn't with your current host i.e. it's somewhere like namecheap or go daddy then all you would need to do is alter the nameserver settings to point at your new hosting space. It's very simple to do and usually there is help available.

Another thing that you could do id it's a wordpress site is to use a product like WP Twin or back up buddy to clone the original and copy it to the new hosting. That however would cost you to buy the product unless you know someone that could do it for you.

      Hope that helps

Yes just talk to your new host. Most of them will do that for free for you. The only other thing you will have to do is point your domain name to the new server settings, and your new host will supply those.

On the other hand, you probably have all the files for your site on your computer. Just upload them to your new host the way you did to your first host. It gets to be fun after awhile. It is a skill always worth practicing.

Many of the hosts out there migrate your site for "free", just have a word with the sales rep & he will guide you through

If you are moving your website to a new server. I am sure good ones move your website for you. You will need to give them details to your existing cPanel and they'll take care of the rest.
