Hi all,

In WordPress isn't the postname automatically an h2 tag? Also, if I decide to break up an article into smaller sections with headings would those sections use the h2 or h3 header tag? Please explain...

My titles always show up in an h1 tag, which is what you want for SEO purposes. As for subtitles, you can make them whatever you want. You can either do it manually through the html editor, or you can use Dean's FCK Editor (a free plugin) which allows you to easily select heading tags.

No, it isn't. (Hardly anything is "automatically" what you think it should...)

It is a theme-dependent issue. Even inside the saem theme it could (and should) be different in the so-called multi-post view (e.g. index, archives, search etc.) and single-post view.

Study the present (v.3+) default theme, TwentyTen, to understand how it works.
