What is my best course of action in promoting my site?

Hi all,

So I've just launched my site, but it is not a product page or information site.

It's a community site.

So I'm not looking to attract buyers, but participants.

What service could I buy/rent to help me get the word out to my target audience and get this thing going?

About the site:

It's a Question and Answer website for poker players. The advantage over regular forums is that people can vote on the value of the topic, they can earn badges for giving good answers, etc.

I would love some advice on how to proceed from here.

    There's absolutely thousands of threads and posts in here about promoting your site/driving traffic/generating leads and I would suggest you use the search facility to find them.

    That would probably be your best starting point.

      I understand the mechanics of SEO. I've been doing the web development dance for 13 years. So I'm not asking for advice on backlinks, or article directories.

      My question is more regarding outsourcing or Warrior packages.

      What service could I buy that can help me drive TARGETED traffic (poker enthusiasts) to my site.

    I would look into local search and sub communities.

    eg. Poker Club Portland, Poker club Boston, etc.

    You could try domain redirect traffic also.

    I too have a review blog for Diet solutions , initially even i had problems Marketing my Blog .
    Well You can post it too free Blog sites , it worked wonders , with very good reaponse.
    1>First try to search for Blogs of your niche
    2>Then check weather they allow link posting( look for the comments)
    3>Choose 3 to 5 blogs for regular posting ( Honestly post some sensible info).Add sum value
    you will see some amazing results...
