Best Wordpress Sales Automation System?

Hi Guys & Girls,

Finally i'm about to complete my first digital product and launch my first internet only business which should end up being full automated. I'm really excited after 5 months of research on here and then development of my own idea.

Essentially I want to sell a product (pdf eBook) i've created and accept paypal as the payment method, then have it send them through a link etc... to where they can download the eBook through a new wordpress site which i've created. I've never done this before and would like it to be as easy as possible, but obviously want it to be as secure as possible also. Plus, i have ideas for upselling as well so it would also be great to be able to have purchaser details that i can later re-market to.

I've found these sales plugins and want to know what others think is best or if you have any other recommended products to use;

1. WP Simple Sales System
2. WP Sales Automater
3. WP Member

Has anyone used these products and can recommend them? Is there any flaws i should know with any of these particular systems?

    If all you are doing is selling an ebook then you are making things more complicated than they need to be. Just use a simple program like: DLGuard - Download page protector, create expiring download links

    At least 2 of those plugins seem to be membership site plugins.

    If you just want an automated follow-up system where you can add your upsells, then I can recommend Aweber -> but it's a paid service.

    I haven't used plugins to do this.

    * Some of the plugins you list are membership site plugins. Is this something you want to create, or just a simple follow up 'sales funnel'?

      Initially it's an ebook - though I was thinking of several upsell products also during checkout.
      However I'd like to maintain a database of customers as I've been thinking of a similar type of network site that could utilize the list.
      I'll check out those products though that you've recommended. For now I think I need to keep it simple.

        As far as your list, I just purchased WP Sales Automator, and have to say, overall Neil has done a good job with the several plugins that makeup this feature set. There is a WSO still active for these plugins. It will allow you to upsell and can be used for single/multiple digital sales and/or as a membership service. You still need an autoresponder like AWeber, no matter what you purchase if you plan on keeping a list.

        WP Simple Sales System is the same product as WP Sales Automator. The core in WPSA is essentially a give away, with the upsell being the additional feature plugins.

            I'd suggest taking a look at S2Member.

            It's free, uses Paypal (and generates the buttons for you), can automatically add users/buyers to your list, and although a membership script also offers secure product download pages. I've used it myself and found it flexible and very professionally done. In fact it's hard to believe it's free!

            There are many options, so you'll be in for a fair bit of reading and set-up, but I think you'll find it does everything you want and more -- including handling your upselling ideas.
