What is the most traffic you have received from a social bookmark in one day?

I received 5,000+ from a Digg listing on the front page.

I have received 10,000+ for a Stumble once.

The only two that I have ever had any significant traffic from are Stumble and Digg.

Has anyone else had success on any other sites, and how did you do it?

      Thanks for joining my site.

For Digg the way I got my numbers is by building a large friend base and then shouting out my diggs.

My Number One Tip for Digg

Try and promote the articles that have been written about your site on other websites. The tipping point is 100 diggs in the first 6 hours. 400+ will get you to the front page.

It takes about 500 friends to get 30 diggs. However Diggs from friends do not count as much as Diggs from non-friends. The friends are only for visual momentum. If someone sees that you have 30 diggs next to a bunch of links with 1 or 2 digg then they will digg yours.

As for Stumble, I honestly do not know what happens. About twice a month 2-3 of out member blogs get stumbled. Anywhere from 2-5k uniques on average and dies off after about 24 hours.

If anyone knows a specific strategy for StumbleUpon, then let me know.

I've pushed but have never gotten as many as you have. That's definitely fantastic stuff.

You definitely need something that people will be interested in to get good results. Boring stuff just doesn't go viral.
