Keyword ideas for small private school

I am trying to help a small private elementary school to increase their online presence (my child goes to this school). Info: the school is nonsectarian with the strong academic focus. Competition: mostly Montessori.
Could anyone spare an idea of the keywords to use?

    Also you should consider using local towns as modifiers and or any regional names.

      Since schools are such a local thing, I would just focus on the 3 or 4 biggest keywords + geoqualifiers (city name usually).

      So, you'd get something like

      yourcity montessori
      montessori yourcity
      yourcity private school
      private school yourcity
      yourcity preschool
      preschool yourcity

      In my experience, there is absolutely 0 reason to go after long tail keywords for a local business.

        Yes, I like the local angle. You can buy domains with local keywords for better search results too.

    If the school is NOT a Montessori school, then it would be detrimental to the school to go after that keyword. The monthly searches are going to be very low for all these terms. For example, Google adwords keyword tool shows only 16 exact local searches for "best elementary school in chicago" Put on lots of content, and focus on "yourtown+elementary school" or "yourtown+private elementary school" or "yourtown+academic elementary school" Use those phrases in your writing and you will start ranking for all of them. Use them naturally in your content.
