Hope you are well and doing great with your online journey.

Getting recognition and people to start reading your blog posts or articles takes time... doing a press release is one way of doing that. But there are much more powerful media, a bit like becoming a celebrity in your niche (a mini Simon Cowell or Oprah effect)...

I use iTunes for my business. If you open the iTunes application on your computer...go to 'iTunes store' and click in the menu 'podcasts'...within that section you can choose various categories...try the marketing & business category, you will see a lot of internet marketers listed in there... but there are many other types of categories like self help, fitness, etc.

This is what I belief the best route to go initially to get fast recognition / credibilty in your chosen topic / market. Do a search online on how to create a podcast yourself (i use a free service called 'audacity - just get a USB microphone and you are ready to record your first show ) then check in iTunes how to add your podcast once ready.

People love to be able to listen to stuff on the go - busy lives! And it gives you a lot of credibility too...

Another major medium to get attention is Facebook - some call it 'the marketing tool of 2011)... here you need to setup a Facebook landing page after you have setup your profile page first. After your profile setup start to follow some people in your market first... and then start creating a fan / business page!

You will be surprised how quickly you start to get visitors - oh ja, make sure NOT to use third party applications to update your fan page...that way your facebook feed won't get updated and you won't get the benefit of having a direct link to your blog posts and not as many readers / comments!

I presume you are blogging as you mention your online business (not some salespage you send people to)...blogging is the best way to establsih yourself as an authority as it is a way of communicating with readers, they can leave comments... starting to build influence over time.

But if you are trying to sell a product or service through a one page site (ie salesletter) or landing page first maybe then I would suggest the use of Free eBooks...

This if used in the right way (most marketers don't) it is the most powerful way to sell ANY product or service! It will have affiliates falling over eachother and begging to promote your product or service...

At the end of the day it is about trying what works best for your business / market and don't get blinded by the 'rich quick schemes' as it is all about hard work now and bearing the benefits from it in a later stage!

There are millions of suggestions in the forums. You should take some time to do some reading. There are many strategies, depending on your content and your personal strengths (writing, selling, etc.)

You could also create a Facebook business page and Twitter page. The top of the page on Facebook has a link for you to link the two websites together.
Asd your friends on your original Facebook site to be your friends on your business Facebook. You can also do a search for your industry and friend about 10 people in both sites. Add 2 comments per day to your Facebook and 4 comments per day to your Twitter account.
