Hi Ryon, Welcome to the wonderful world of IM You don't have to use wordpress for your site, but the reason many people start out this way is because it makes things a lot easier, ESPECIALLY for a "newb" Wordpress has lots of stuff already built into to help you market whatever you are doing. Since it is open source, there are also lots of plugins that are readily available, such as the "All In One SEO Pack". Wordpress does all kinds of stuff automatically, like ping for you, organize your pages, etc. I'd suggest spending some time on here reading up on getting started with wordpress. Matt |

If you want to use WP for IM purposes, you will need to buy a domain name and hosting as WP don't allow advertising unless you are using your own domain name. I suggest you start with a blogger blog (blogspot.com). You can advertise to your heart's content there. My latest blogger blog surprised me with its popularity in just over a week - so no problems with Search Engines finding you. Once you've got some confidence with blogger, then you can move onwards and upwards!! |
