New to IM where to start?

Hi Warriors,

Im new in this interesting play of IM.. Can any one tell me where to start?

I'm not asking for a magic money formula, but some guidance will be appreciated.

    I think where to start depends a lot on where you are. How much do you know about marketing, SEO, web site setup/design, etc...? How much money do you have to invest?

    I would take the time to learn the basics of the business if you don't know them. You can learn a lot by reading this forum, however the sheer volume of information here can quickly overwhelm a person.

    A decent way to get started is to purchase a well-reviewed and popular WSO that teaches you step by step.

    If you go that route, make sure you do everything you're told. Don't get part way and then decide to purchase another product!

    The key to IM is always take singular consistent action toward you objective until you get results - and results can take some time. Don't give up, you'll get there!

    Hmm...

    I would say:

    - learn some SEO (on-page and off-page)
    - learn how Wordpress works
    - learn how affiliate links/cookies work
    - learn how to build review sites and write effective review/pre-sell content

    Stay away from buying a bunch of products (most of the information you need is already here on this forum for free).

    Just focus on the fundamentals I listed above - I'm sure others will chime in on what can be helpful.

    I think the best way to go is to build a review site, get it ranked (and start getting traffic) and then go onto more advanced stuff (list building, ppc etc.).

    I am in the same situation just getting off the ground been at it two weeks. I am glad you are not looking for a quick get rich scheme those never work. However, hard work but done in a smart and consistent way will get you the desired results. I personally decided to go the franchise method for my Internet Marketing business and very cost effective. Maybe look into sites that give you the training and the infrastructure and you can just add on to what they are teaching you and building for you.

      Learn to find keywords
      Learn to build review sites
      Learn to write articles which point to these sites
      Work on sales copy on the review sites

      Go from there, it's the first steps into a larger world.

      After that, work on building lists and maybe even your own blogs.

    Learn how to set up your own hosted website. It's not as difficult as you might think, especially with Wordpress practically doing all the work for you.

    I made a quick video reply for you but China summit appears my advice...

    1. Know what the heck you want to do with your business.

    2. Find a mentor.

    3. Don't chase magic buttons around.

    One of the biggest reasons why people fail in this business is not because they don't have the know-how, it is because they chase magic buttons.

    You're not going in a couple buttons and magically have money fall out of the sky in your lab.

    It is not going to happen. It takes hard work, dedication and a plan of action to make it in this business.

    Your best bet is to latch onto a method and run with it. Don't go chasing method after method. Stick with one thing and go out and do it.

    Learn how to get targeted traffic to your websites. You can have the best website with the most amazing product or service out there, but if you don't have any targeted traffic going to your website you won't make much money! So start with learning SEO which is the art of search engine optimization. If you can get website's to page 1 of Google, you can make a lot of money online!

    Learn about various ways of making money online. Mostly people start with either of these:

    - Adsense
    - Affiliate Marketing
    - Blogging

    These are relatively easier ways and does not involve much cost. Spend few weeks understanding all these, choose one and focus on that method.

    My two cents:
    Read, read, read, study, take notes, absorb... and then jump in there and get beat up! You learn the most by "doing".

    A tremendous amount of knowledge in here but, like life itself, you need to steer around the crap (and the crap "shooters"). Trust your instincts. Let wisdom guide you, not foolishness. Be patient. Work hard. Stay honest.

    One more thing. IM or "Internet Marketing" is a bigger field of play than what many in this forum make it out to be. Keep in mind, there is more than one way to play the game. Be creative. Think outside the box.

    Start a wordpress blog in a niche that you know something about become part of that online community... meaning comment on other blogs in that niche, post in forums in that niche, and write articles in that niche, all while creating great content for your own blog.

    Once you have 15-20 pages of great content, start learning about monetization and conversion.
