Boost Sales Using Reddit

We are always looking for the best ways to create traffic generation and boost our sales but always at the lowest price. Sometimes this can be difficult especially when you are leading PPC campaigns in tough niches. Let's take a look at one method that is hotter than ever.

To those of you that have never heard of Reddit, which could very well be possible since it has just recently took off (it has been around a long time but wasn't used all that much), is a social news website where people post links or have social discussions. It's the type of place where you can find out about news before it even hits CNN's front page. Reddit rise to glory occurred due to the failures of Digg.com. The users of Digg revolted when they implement several social networking changes to the site and vast majority of users fled to Reddit. Reddit just achieved 1 Billion page views in a month, only a 100 websites in the world can make such a claim.

So now we can see the great opportunity we have available with Reddit. It just got big but hasn't hit the level of competition in advertising that we have seen with Google and Facebook. So for as little of $20 per day you can start advertising on Reddit and for $30 per day you can have it set for targeted traffic.

So how do you make the money? Two ways really, we can use the advertised method for a landing page but I prefer to go the free route. If you have a blog and you are able to write some amazing content then you should have no problem writing an article about a topic people want to read about. For example, a few weeks ago I wrote on a great article on one of my video game blogs and submitted the link to Reddit (Gaming Sub-Reddit), I was able to get a ton of traffic to my blog and people were buying up my e-book that I was promoting. Within the article I made in-line links to my sales page for my book. I was able to do this all on free traffic. The other route of course is the paid method which you can get some great laser targeted traffic to your blog using the same method I described above.

Just remember, for the free method you must write great content. If you fail to do so then your link to your article will never be up-voted. You will still see traffic from your link submission if it doesn't get up-voted but no where near the traffic you will see if you're article gets up-voted to the first three pages of Reddit.

Happy Redditing!

Edit: Forgot one thing, on Reddit make sure the title is catchy or fills a need people want a solution too so they click on it!

It's sad this post didn't get the replies it SHOULD.

Jayvance, congrats on your success. Your post comes as a breath of fresh air especially when most of the article marketing discussions are constantly about whether we should spin our articles or mass distribute them or building backlinks.

You have shown a great example of how a single piece of carefully written quality content can outperform the efforts of writing mindless articles with just the mere hope that they would work than any real reason.

Thanks yourreviewer, When it comes to making money people are always looking for the magic bullet but honestly it really doesn't get any easier than this.

Buy Domain -> Load Wordpress -> Write High Quality Article promoting product by informing people of a solution to their needs -> Submit to Reddit -> profit??? Heck it can be a click bank product you can promote instead of your own and you're total cost is 5 to 10 bucks for the domain and a few bucks for hosting. Rinse, repeat.

    Nice post.

Another point that may need to be brought forward is that if you gain a reputation for linking to junk, you will quietly disappear from the community.

Ordinarily, I would not need to point that out, except marketers notoriously link to junk. No one else on the planet will abuse their friends in an effort to make a few bucks.

Guess this could work really well with cpa offers such as ringtone downloads, free games downloads, short forms etc? Have you had a go at some of these using reddit? By the sounds of it doing 'content lockdown' type sites and promoting them through reddit looks like a winning strategy. Great post.

Reddit has more intelligent members than the other SB sites imo. Some of them actually read.

The key as the OP mentioned is coming up with amazing copy. Redditors have a down vote button too, and that's the only one a lot of them use. If you get 2 down votes before you get an up vote, your link disappears. They practically encourage down votes. One of their humor sections warns that unfunny stuff will be down voted mercilessly. wham

And you can have the bad luck to have a good page get a couple of people in a bad mood for the first ones to vote on it.
