Hacker proof server - Does such a thing exist?

I was hacked for the second time this week.
One of my sites is so large it may take 2-3 days to rebuild the server.
This blows.
I am currently using Liquidweb.com and thought they we reliable.
My IT Guys tells me that ever since I launched my most recent ebook, that 30 attempts have been made to crack in to ssh and whatnot.

Seems like this might be some info that liquid web might like to provide. Unfortunate that I had to get hacked again before finding out. Guess I better keep a better eye on my logs.

Anyone know of a very reputable host that takes care of its customers from all angles?

Unfortunately, if someone is sufficiently determined and smart enough, it may not be possible to find a truly hack-proof hosting company.

In cases where I have been hacked, it has never been the fault of the hosting company. In one case I had a keylogger on my PC harddrive. In other cases, it was due to security weaknesses and oversights in my site constructiion.

However, to answer your question, at present, I am using Hostgator and have had no security problems so far. I also use Bluehost and have had no security problems.

    No, and look at firehost.com.

They are 'gurus' are security, used them before...

Ran a webhosting company for about 2 years, so I know my stuff in that area. (Not bragging just providing some background)

The only hacker-proof server is the one that is disconnected from the internet. At least until the hacker gets physical access.

There are many different security precautions to take in keeping your server secure, and these will keep out most of the script kiddies, who account for most server break-ins. If someone truly wants to break into your server, they will find a vulnerability.

Of course there's always the good ole DDoS attacks to bring your site to its knees.

This isn't meant to scare you. Its the same thing as breaking into your home. If someone really wants in, they can always smash a window and make a mess. No alarm or locked door will stop that.
