Hey,

I've just been put in touch with a personal trainer. He's got a few clients and he's extremely good. Very passionate.

At the moment he's taking people on monthly and organising when they come in as well as taking control of there diet - he drops food off at there house each morning etc..

He's posting a lot of videos on his personal Facebook profile - these are really good as well. Shows him at various points of work - shows step by step some of his training regimes etc...

Of course, he has heard I can do some web site design and he's asked me to help him.

Just wondering is there anyone here helping any personal trainers at the moment?

I'm thinking with the right support he could be fully booked, with maybe even group sessions every week - and perhaps a small info product for clients to buy potentially.

Rather than a website I was thinking of creating him a Facebook page, with nice bit of video content hidden unless they 'Like' the page...

Just wondering does anyone work with a personal trainer or have any successful examples of one ?

I would go for a website and a facebook page. The facebook page is for added publicity while the website is where you can go full force on promoting his services, i.e. put up videos, testimonials, newsletter optin, a forum, a blog, and even an appointment booking application, tied, of course, to a payment facility so that when they book an appointment online, they also make a payment.

Agree. Website is a must. FB Fan Page is an excellent way to capture leads if you already have a nice volume of friends. I worked with a personal trainer, revamping his site. Check ebodi.com. That's an example of a professional personal trainer's site. That's actually still his old site. He hasn't uploaded the new one yet. Hope this helps.

This is a classic example of where a membership site fits.

He can create a massive amount of content - a LOT of cheap reports, plenty of videos and have not only a recurring income but a constant stream of customers for new info products (or physical products).

It's a niche where people love to buy things to help them. He could be reseller/affiliate for any of the training equipment he uses with them, use an affiliate/Amazon link for any recommending reading - the potential is huge.

But start off with a membership site that has a small monthly fee and you get everyone on a list and you can't go wrong.

Thanks Andy. I think perhaps he needs to focus on how he is framing these videos then. At the moment they're simple updates from the beach - not videos that could be packaged as a product i.e. 'how get amazing abs'.

To begin with he needs traffic, so I suppose the Facebook Page with the bait to get them to 'Like' his page is the starting point.

I guess he needs to find the right angle.. would love to see any personal trainers on Facebook that are using it successfully..

I'm thinking his customers should be his sales funnel. The videos, rather than be "how to get great abs" should be videos of all of his advice - i.e "here's how to warm up before an exercise routine", "here are my top tips for vegitarian dieting", "top 5 changes my current clients are making to their old habits to get new results", interviews with other trainers, neutricianalists etc....

Just a bunch of stuff that would be of interest to all of his clients as he gets them - stuff they'll love to pay monthly to see more of.

I get you - mini-videos I guess... little bites of info every few days... and then eventually build up a following (or a tribe as Seth Godin would say).. then slowly offer a main product or monthly fee for additional content ...

          I guess that could work..
