Don't spammers have any business sense?

I understand that spammers want to make money, even if they're using unacceptable methods.

But if their in it for the money why on earth do they send you 50 viagra pitches a day, or 12 in five minutes?

Do they think they're fooling you by using different email addresses? Do they really expect to makes sales by pissing people off and annoying them?

Some spammers are probably pretty smart but what kind of reasonable person can expect any kind of results from this type of MO?

Well, if their email lands in the inbox of someone who happens to be looking for what they're selling, there's one potential sale.

It's a numbers game. No more, no less.

    Cheers,

If it didn't work, they would have stopped by now. Sad but true.

Costs are minimal; reward is greater.

    Hey Brian

I sent you the $5,000 "release fee" and I'm still waiting for the promised $20,000,000 to appear in the bank.

Do you need me to send more money?

    Cheers,

    Cool.

I just wondered because I also received an email from the tax office asking me to send my credit card details (and my mother's maiden name) so they could issue my tax refund.

When that arrives, I'll have more cash available when you need it.

As someone else said, it is a pure numbers game and unfortunately there are enough new people coming on the Internet each day or those who simply are naive to these type of things that will fall prey to the scams.

Because of our international business theme I get emails and phone calls from people all the time who have received an offer for their used car from an anonymous buyer in another country and they want to know what they have to do to ship their car there and when I try to explain to them it is a scam and why it is so, some are grateful while others are upset that I would not help them. All the spammer/scammers have to do is have one scam/spam email make a hit and they may earn more from that one email than most people in their country earns in a year.

    Hi,

the general principle of marketing is:

To sell one product, we need to market it to 100 people..

similarly, to a sell a product to one person, we need to promote the product to him 100 times.

the spammers do the same trick.

they keep sending you emails, they dunno when ur mood may change

Most of them don't have the proper training on how to market a business that's all they know

That's spam. It's a numbers game. They want to send out as much spam as possible. If they send out 10 million emails and get just .5% to click on the link that's 50,000 people opening the email. Even if just .25-.50% buy the spam offer that's 100-250 orders. If the price is $50 that's 12K.

Spammers count spamming as sensible business strategy. I don't think they're getting any good benefits by sending unnecessary e-mails as now a days everyone knows about this kind of unwanted mail. So most of the viewers just delete it or send it to the spam guard.
