Membership Site Question...

Does anyone know of a membership software that can do the following? I've used many membership solutions over the years and have been looking at going with Digital Access Pass for my next project but I'm not sure what it can do in regards to the following.

Let's say I have 4 separate products (we'll call these products A,B,C,D). I plan to release them dripped per month so month1=A, month2=B, etc.

What I want to know is if there is any way I can change the order for some customers.

For example, could I sell product C (normally month 3) FIRST to a person and then restart the sequence so they would receive product C the first month, then A,B,D?

I hope that makes sense.

Basically, I want to be able to launch multiple entry products that then place customers into the drip sequence.

I hope that makes sense, I feel confused even reading it.

I use DAP but yep you got me confused. Have you contacted DAP owner Ravi? They have good support over there. He's a warrior to boot. He'll know for sure.

    Ya, it's confusing.

Basically could I offer a customer:

    Month1-Product A
    Month2-Product B
    Month3-Product C
    Month4-Product D

However could I offer a different customer to start with a different process:

    Month1-Product C
    Month2-Product A
    Month3-Product B
    Month4-Product D

I hope that makes a little more sense.

    LB,

Yes, you can do that DAP. Normally, you would need to create a separate Product for each such combination (Sequence 1, Sequence 2, etc).

But there's a better way to do this. We call it the "Self-Service Store".

And we built this plugin over an year ago, exactly for this purpose.

Instead of you choosing what order your content is delivered in, your members get to choose the order.

So basically, you would award them "Credits" every month when they sign up for your subscription. So every month, "X" credits get credited to their account, and you then create multiple products "Month 1", "Month 2" etc.

And then armed with those credits, they can then go to your "Self-Service Store" - which is basically a page that shows a list of all products that they can "Redeem" their credits for - and then use their credits to buy whatever they want.

So the first month, someone may choose "Product A" while someone else may choose "Product D". And so on. Think of it like Audible.com.

The plugin is not available for sale right now - but we're re-launching it shortly in a few weeks, as we're finishing up re-doing the script and adding more features at re-launch.

This video was made a while ago and does not do justice to the actual product :-) . But it will give you a rough idea what the SSS is about.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ravi,

    Thanks for your response.

My interest is in having multiple "entry point" products. So I can use product A,B,C or D as the one product that starts them down the monthly sequence.

Essentially I want to be able to "launch" each month's new content as its own product and then put them into a monthly sequence where they get new stuff each month.

So basically aside from the self service store I can do this but would need to create a separate sequence for each one, correct?

If I had say, 12 months of content do you see this as being an issue or should it work OK as long as I setup the sequences?

    (i.e. A,B,C,D,E or B,A,C,D,E or C,A,B,D,E etc.)

Sorry if that's a bit confusing. Basically to sum it up I want to sell a membership without everyone starting on the same month's content since it's non-sequential content.

Phew...I get confused trying to write it up but it sounds like Digital Access Pass can do it.

WOW! Someone replied while I was typing my long spiel :-)

And guess what he said too?

Yup :-) Current TOTAL for the word "Confusing": FIVE!

    LB,

    Let's be honest here.

If you read the thread above, here are the highlights...

First you said... "I hope that makes sense, I feel confused even reading it."

Then Alan said... "I use DAP but yep you got me confused"

Then again you said... "Ya, it's confusing."

Then yet AGAIN, you said... "Phew...I get confused trying to write it up but it sounds like Digital Access Pass can do it."

Do you see a pattern there? :-)

The word "confusing" was used in 4 out of the 5 responses above.

Do you really have to make it that confusing?

This is one of the biggest reasons 99% of people who try to do anything online, fail even before they start: Trying to make a big deal out of little things, and making a trivial thing out of the important things. Many people basically have their priorities upside down.

So whatever it is that you're trying to do, if 4 responses here on the warrior forum contain the word "confusing", then imagine you writing a sales letter and trying to make your buyers understand the choices they have! If you are so confused yourself trying to explain it yourself, then imagine the plight of your prospects!

So I'm sure that using DAP and some workarounds, you could probably pull off what you're asking for.

But will your prospects understand what you're saying, and be able to purchase your product?

So whatever it is you're trying to do - just ditch the complex combinations.

Make it simple - for yourself, and more importantly, for your prospects.

The hardest part of making money online, is still the "making money" part - which means being able to get people to buy your stuff. Don't make it hard on them :-)

Hope you can take my friendly advice the right way.

Well, it's called self-deprecation in my eyes... It's not always easy to explain something that occurs on the backend so I just assume that it's my fault.

What I'm describing would be invisible to prospects. They would just purchase and start receiving content. I'll worry about the "confusing" backend.

I'm looking for a solution that will be going into a highly successful business so I think I've got the "money-making" aspect of it under control...just needed to know if I need to involve custom programming or not. I've already purchased 10+ solutions that can't do it so I figured I would ask here before hiring a programmer.

Regardless, I will probably give DAP a try as it seems to be a very highly regarded solution and I appreciate the responses you've given.

Listen to Ravi. He may have bad hair, but his DAP is second to none. I use it and will continue using it for every membership site that I create. Kidding about the hair... sort of.
