This all depends on the niche you are in and how strong the competition is. Where are your links coming from?

I took a look at the forum you link to in your sig, and I see two big problems.

The first is the two big, obvious Adsense blocks that take up a large portion of the opening screen. People click through, see a bunch of Adsense ads and back out because that's not what they came for.

An even bigger problem is that there's no real content, just a few posts by 'admin'. There's no description of what the forum is about, no signs of activity, no personality.

With the methods you listed, it's less important to 'seo man' and more important to be 'hu-man'.

If you weren't looking for a backlink, would you register at your forum?

Clarification: My comments are directed at what a visitor sees when clicking your second link.

Checked out the first one, and the stats show 11k+ active members. Even then, there's very little activity, which tells me that most of your members are likely to be other would-be 'seo men' backlinking sites of their own.

I did try to read a couple of the posts by what appeared to be members, but the site loaded so slowly that I gave up. Which is likely also contributing to your problems attracting traffic and especially return visitors.

that true there are 11k active members...but all that is not true.
and i don't know how comes.

and what i must do for make my forum load quickly .....that problem comes from the server or from the design or forum ?

I just clicked on the dating ladies forum too - and all I could see on a laptop screen was the two adblocks. I suspect that I would think it was an "adsense for domains" site and would click off again. Even the colour scheme is the same as the standard colours of "adsense for domains" (or at least I think it is). I fear you will need to sort out that issue before you get "real traffic", ie people who click onto your site other than via the forum posts / blog posts you are putting up.

This is great advice. Its so important to try and see things through the eyes of a visitor/potential customer.

      Thanks for the reminder John!

You're thinking like "seo man" again. Click your own darn link and visit your page like you were one of the people following one of your backlinks.

Quick, what's the site about? Why should I stick around, register and post?

A forum isn't about the admin posting a bunch of seo keyword stuff. Heck, this forum actively deletes that kind of stuff.

If you have to keep the Adsense, change it to a single header-type ad. Fill the space that opens up with reasons for someone to want to stay and participate.

Take a step back and look at your site like a human visitor, not a search engine spider bot.

First - "datingladys" - in my opiniong, the name turns me off. I find the term "ladys" odd. Also, is it for women who date? Is it for men who date ladies? The site looks like it is for women, so is it for women who date ladies? I could be wrong but I think that women who are single and dating don't use the term "dating lady".

Secondly - if you have so many members but so few posts in your forum - my perception as your visitor is that you are lying about your membership. Why do you have so many members? Why do your members have such odd names? hferaugyioiipmefa is your newest member? REALLY? Most women in forums pick attractive names in forums. Something usable and personable. Your membership numbers are are huge indication that there is something wrong with your forum. Why in the world would so many women join your forum and then not post anything?

Especially when they can read the forum without joining? If they liked what they read enough to want to join - they would post.

Third - the GIANT google adblocks. Why are they so big? That was a warning to me as well that you are more interested that I will click your google adblock than that I will use your forum.

Fourth - your forum is too broad. If it is for dating ladies - why are we talking about business relationships? Kids? Siblings? Parents? Getting divorced? It is better to do a few targeted topics well than a lot of topics poorly.

Five - quite a few of your posts seem to be in another language. Who is this forum for? English speakers or non-english speakers?

Any one of those reasons would have kept me from joining your forum.
