What is the ONE thing change you made that help you go from mediocre sales to $100/day?

Pardon me if this have been asked before, but I want to know what is the one thing you made or know that help propel you from making mediocre sales to $100/day?

I started selling recently but I want to reach the magical $100/day soon...care to share your secrets?

    The main thing I think we are all guilty of in the beginning - lack of focus.

    As soon as you stop looking for easier ways to make money and actually focus on one idea and one idea only, that is when you will start to see results. Nothing good can happen when you are jumping around from WSO to WSO. We've all been there but the sooner people learn that lesson, the better.

        Same here, it's the lack of focused action that results in little, if any, results. The moment I hunkered down on doing just one thing fairly well is when I started seeing my income explode and become a lot more consistent as well.

    It was so simple, but I didnt take any action. When I did the results were tremendous.

    I will give you three things.

    1) More articles to more directories.

    2) Outsource more stuff to people who can do it better than me. So I spend more time on my business and not in my business.

    3) Work like a dog!, There are idiots out there and in the WF that will tell you it is all about luck if you want to hit it big time with your online business. What a load of bollocks!!!. Work your ass of, because Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity

        I suggest you use the search feature in here. There is alot of treasure trove of information on article marketing.

          Celente is being modest... I have seen him give a few juicy nuggets.

          If I am remembering right he showed us how he made "$xxxx in x days" with article marketing once that was pretty good.

          But he has broken it down for you here, lots of articles! Thats one method that I know works

            I did remember posting that.

            I am still using that tactic to this very day!

            using articles to sell high ticket items....not just $37 ebooks.

            Yes you can make good income selling $37 ebooks, but it is just as easy selling high ticket items with one article....as long as the right crowd get hold of it.

            Think about it, would you rather sell 40 ebooks at $37 a piece to make $1500.

            Or would you rather sell one product at $1500 a piece, just one!

            The writing is there for you on the wall.

            Not many people realise this, that it is just as easy to sell a $1500 product as it is to sell a $37! Yes its true. You just have get your message out to the right highly targeted audience...and that is where most people fail.

      This is the mentality that I am adapting. Currently I am just focusing on driving traffic to my squeeze page via article marketing.

      Then I will use money made to reinvest into more articles. I have a goal of writing 50 articles by 2/24/11

        smart man, that is how I went from $0 a day to about $50, then just ramped that up.

        it depends on your autoresponder copy and sales page copy too. But is a good plan.

        Once you ramp that up, you can make pretty much whatever you want. Like i said, outsource it. Find the right person and reinvest money back into your business.

      Freezing up and not taking action. That was, and still is, my main probelm but slowly I've been able to get pass it.

        At the beginning work hard for each sale, think about what you need to accomplish in order to make a sale.

        - write two articles a day and subscribe it to X directories
        - make 3 blog comments
        - Answer 3 Questions on Yahoo
        - Follow 50 people on Twitter
        - Make 5 tweets
        - record a video
        - throw fliers from a Helicopter
        - Carve your site name on the moon...
        - Tatoo your site name on Pamela Anderson's breast
        - or whatever... just be creative! I once draw a graffiti on the bathroom in a strip club with the name of one of my 'penis enlargement' sites, big time sales!

        After a while it all become natural and the sales will flow consistently without you to do much work.

        As everybody has pointed well. Stay focus and take action.

    Take action and focus, I used to always work with the radio or my little tv on, but I noticed especially when I have my tv on I always get distracted so I started working without tv and by doing that I got more work done.

    Daily sales depend on a business plan based on real knowledge about how the internet works. My field is not related to internet marketing but to mental health. This is a very difficult field because you have to build trust. Of course, building trust is indispensable in all businesses (online and offline), however if you lead with someone’s health and if you are not able to guarantee that you will really save this person without provoking any damage to their health instead of curing them, you will never make a sale.

    If I was an internet marketer, I could have made a lot of money online. However, I have mainly spent a lot of money online; I’ve helped many people without asking for payment, etc.

    So, now I’m caring about internet marketing online too, and easily making money in this field. My advice is that you should not get involved in any field that is not somehow related to internet marketing online, at least in the beginning. First of all learn how to be an internet marketer and get involved in this field because everyone online cares about making money.

    I started making money online when I stopped insisting on making money through a difficult field only because I have a certain knowledge related to this field, and I decided to work also on the simplest field online, which is the most demanded one: internet marketing. I’m helping the public with my knowledge (after spending and losing a lot of money online… I passed through many adventures also building 3 websites while depending on webmasters). So, now I can give lessons to the public, protect newbies from misconceptions, simplify complicated notions, explain how certain marketing strategies must be applied, etc.

    If you are not making so much money with what you are doing online, do something else in parallel, and your second income stream will give you more money. There are many ways to make $100 per day. You should not depend on only one income stream. Many times things will be fine, but everyday is different. You may make a lot of money today, or for a few days, but after this success, stop selling so much. This is life.

    I also find that once a member trusts me and appreciates the info quality, they then purchase the supporting ebooks.

    Thanks guys, that was alot of information. As I scroll down the pages, I realize that focus and taking action is the main thing some of you do to see explosion in income. Thing is, for newbies, what are the actions you guys take? Is it focusing on email marketing? Is it driving traffic? Is it improving conversion rate?

    See, we may be very focus on something and still things don't work out, why? Coz we focus on the wrong things! Personally, I am going to focus on doing extremely well in email marketing....Any thoughts?

      Becoming better at email marketing is a plus
      but remember if you are not getting any traffic
      and leads then email marketing will just be a
      waste of time.

      If you are really good at getting traffic now then
      I would focus on email marketing. If you suck at
      getting traffic....then learning how to get more traffic
      should be your number 1 focus.

      The problem a lot of newer marketers run into is trying to do/learn too many things at once. You need to think more linear and focus on one task at a time.

      If you do more than one task at a time, then you should work from a to-do list so you complete one task before you take on another.

      As soon as you can justify the business expense, then start outsourcing tasks that you aren't good at or don't like doing and focusing on the what you do best and what brings in the sales.

      Personally, I try to focus on studying one thing at a time for my own info-product business. It's also a way to avoid going into information overload.

      As a copywriter, I do a lot of research and studying my client's products, answering emails, etc. so I often have more than one thing I'm studying, but I keep the multi-path education to the absolute minimum.

    My advice: create something worthy, like a good product or a good news letter. Stop browsing the WSO section for the magic pill. If you add value, and you know how to market it, you will make money.

    Although I am not at the $100/day level yet, my income greatly increased when I narrowed my focus. I was spread way too thin.

    Choose one or two areas to really focus on and work those areas hard!!! The income will follow. Then you can go on to the next area if you are still interested.

    It was two basic things:

    1. Creating new products (anywhere from 5% to 33 1/3% of your customer base will buy from you again and again).

    2. Scaling up (example: you find a winning campaign ad on an advertising network, you then run that same / similar ad on another network).

    It's been said before, but for me it was also focus.

    I'm still guilty of doing too many things, but I'm much more focused now than I was a year or two ago and even though I do many things, I do them sequentially (one after the other) rather then trying to do all at once.

    Even so, I bet I could increase my income by increasing my focus. If I did only niche marketing and ditched everything else. Or only product creation and ditched everything else.
    But I like to have a bit of variety, so I still do both.

    I dare to say the biggest leap into $100+ days is to change your THINKING- YOUR MINDSET. This is the key people... Of course you need a good business plan ad strategies but if your thinking is negative you will continue to fail unless you hit lucky breaks.

    The first thing I learned was the web hosting matters. People put tons of $$ into SEO, linking, etc and then buy the cheapest hosting they can find. Page load time matters. When I moved to a dedicated server and cut my page load time to a few seconds my conversions increased without an increase in traffic. Then i did everything listed above.

    This is a question that I had also and saw this thread and had to get involved. I am not at $100 a day yet but have goals set for this. Everywhere I turn (mentors, coaches, etc) I see consistence is key. I also am told to find 1 or 2 directions (banners, social media, etc) and stick to them until you have mastered them.

    The biggest problem is people jumping around and not getting really good at one thing!

      Organization. I completely organized my websites with spreadsheets.
      I mapped out a clear plan of action for each site.

      My keywords, action to take, action taken, main article directory URL's such as EZA, amount I can make per keyword etc. are all clearly defined on the spreadsheets.

      Each day I approach several of my sites. I check my rankings with Rank Checker. Then I go to my spreadsheets and focus on taking keywords to the next level in the search engines following my mapped out plan.

      It boils down to very organized massive action.

    Like what many have mentioned, it's about focus.

    Other than that, there's another thing but this is just me. I like to go about finding that ONE business model that can bring the highest ROI.

    E.g.

    Model 1 - Writing 10 articles for $100 in 5 hours

    Model 2 - Creating and putting up your own mini $7 report in 2 days

    I'd opt for model 2. Even though it took longer, I'd sell much more den $100 with proper marketing, not to mention building a list that I can sell to in future.

    It's ok if I don't any idea about product creation at the beginning. It's all about the willingness to learn and implement. There's no such thing as "I'm not good at this....I'm don't know how to do that". There are only lazy people. Just my 2 cents.
