yes, first you need to make a facebook account, then can make a fan page. How ever its good to have some friends in facebook before making a page, so u can suggest your page to your friends first.

Rob,

You will first need to join Facebook. You can join using whatever name you want as no one will be able to see who created your Facebook page, so don't worry. Once you have created your account you will then need to setup a facebook fan page - NOT a community page. Community pages are for generalised topics and no one person can have control over a community page.

You will need to come up with a unique name for your fanpage. If you simply name it 'Music' or something general like that then you risk Facebook turning it into a community page or deleting it because the theme is too general.

If you want to give music tips either name it after your website, if you have one, or name it something like 'Music Tips by Rob' or something similar - you get the idea. A fanpage is suppose to represent an actual product, service, celebrity, or website that exists.

I try facebook, kinda awkward you need to sign-up your name or if you would like you can use your alias. But after you made your sign-up, you have to create your facebook page.

What I really don't understand let say by the time you generate a lot of friends and you have to suggest them to another page that you created....

I guess that's the way it is.

But the wonderful part is... you can create an fbml. You can add an html code or even your squeeze page to capture their emails.

Well, for more info just visit youtube and search that in.

In the very left hand column down the bottom there should be an option that says 'Ads and Pages'? You should click on that and then click on 'Create a new Page' or whatever the button is.

If my fan page is about music tips what would be the best category when I create a page?

The options are:

Local business or place
Company, organisation or institution
Brand or product
Artist, band or public figure
Entertainment
Cause or topic
