Hey Everyone! I'm Becky. I'm new to the warrior forum, but not a newbie or an oldie in online world ( been 'making money online' for about a year and a half )...

Anyways, here is the problem.... I am working on ranking two sites, in the wedding niche. My plan is to make money with them through advertising, or bartering. To be 100% completely honest with everyone, I am planning on getting married myself in 2012 and this is a way for me to make money for my wedding / or items for my wedding. My estimate is that I will be 1 - 5 in google in 3 months tops for the keywords I am going for. Ok. Great...

Here's the problem - I suck at sales. Yup, it's my a flaw. So, I am planning on hiring out for this, and also playing with the idea of getting advisement on my other sites that are already ranked.

My question to you is - I am some of you have had paid advertisers on your side. Did you hire someone to do this? If so did you get them at places like Getafreelancer.com or hire locally like off of craigslist?

Any thoughts would be REALLY appreciated.

Thanks
Becky

Hire someone to put ads on your site?

Are you saying that you have an issue signing up for sites like commission junction and finding a wedding related advertiser and putting the banners on your site?

Not sure exactly what your having a problem with.

No. I want to get advertisers directly, not threw a commission basis like with affiliate marketing. I want to go to photographers, wedding planners, invitational makers, lodges (ect.) and say "Hey, I have this wedding webpage online that's getting 'X' visitors a day. You should give me $ and I will put your company info. on my page. OR you can give me FREE invitations and I will but your company info. on my page [barter]."

      Was that more clear?

      Thanks

I sugegst you try to do it yourself because otherwise it will be very expensive for you.

If you define what exact steps you want to do, then you will find people here to guide you for each step.

What do you mean by "define steps". The steps are : #1. Make site . #2. Rank site. #3. Get people to pay for advertisement / barter for advertisement on site.

Expense - I was thinking of doing a percentage basis. Only get paid if you make a sale.

Yes thats more clear. I would try to do it yourself first before you decide you need to hire someone.

While you wait your 3 months to get your site ranked and getting traffic you can start asking people now to get a feel. Obviously no one is going to pay to advertise on a new site with 0 traffic though.

The big question I guess I would still have though is will this site be a local site or not?

If its not for a local area then immediately cut out photographers, wedding planners, ect. If it is local then the BEST way to do it would be to call and setup a meeting and sit down with them and talk it out.

One is local - but not local enough to sit down and talk with them. And that's my problem, the idea of cold call sales put a chill down my spine. I believe with business you should focus on strength, and leave your weaknesses to someone else who is better at them. I am good at ranking sites. I can't sell.

If its not local then you would be working with big companies which will most likely have affiliate programs that they would want you to join.

Best way to attract advertisers that you are looking for is to build a great site and have them find/contact you from your site.

Thanks Arron. Like I said, One is local, one is national. For these sites I DON"T want to do the affiliate thing. I love affiliate marketing, most of my other sites work that way, but for these sites I want do work directly with companies. This is for a lot of reasons... One being I want to the option to be able to barter. And from what I have seen most wedding sites, even the biggest, don't have use affiliate's.

One thing you can do...when you start to get visitors you can
add a "Advertise With Us" at the top or the bottom of your website
near the contact us. Also you can go on wedding forums and build
a relationship with other wedding site owners.
