Build opt-in list by offering free ebook

I was thinking of making a site where i could offer a free ebook and build an opt-in list. So what software is there that would work best for this?

Why do you need a software. All you need is a squeeze page.

Many people use a combination of different solutions. I like to use WordPress, with an Aweber plugin. But there are a ton of very good ways you can do it.

Thanks for your responses, I'm a newb at this so please forgive me for asking a stupid question. What I want is a button on a page where someone clicks, enters their email and gets a secure download of the ebook.

I second that. There are also squeeze page templates that you can get a hold of that will make the whole ordeal a lot easier, but I would still suggest using the aweber plug in for your opt-in.

All of this can be set up in a matter of just a few minutes if you know what you're doing.

Check out some threads and wso on list building and you will find some good, free resources here on wf.

Most people go with aweber. They'll provide you with the script necessary to do what you're describing.

    That's good advice from Garyv.

A lot of people will try to steer you to a free auto-responder like MailChimp, but I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole.

They are known for banning marketers, where companies like Aweber and Get Response understand what we do.

I use to also recommend iContact, but in the last couple days they're suspending people's accounts... and that's not a good way to do business.

Tom, my sincere recommendation is for Imnica Mail.

They are a mailing company that provide you with everything you need, for a really decent price. They're cheaper than Aweber and the owner of Imnica is a fellow Warrior. (Richelo Killian)

That's really easy for support and any questions you may have.

Do you need stable WEBHOSTING? https://hpthost.com HEY folks, for a limited time get the first month of service For only $0.01 That's 1 cents. At checkout use coupon code 1cent. This is only for web hosting, and only applies to the monthly services.

Aweber is probably the easiest to get started with, and its only $1 to try it for a month.

It takes knowing very basic coding, but you can probaly learn it in less than 5 minutes if you search for something like "install aweber form" on youtube or something.

First you need a squeeze page where you can put your autoresponder to get people into your list. One important thing is to have a plan on how to get your offer in front of people who may be interested to get the freebie you're giving away.

      To the OP,

Starting out your best bet would be to use "Aweber" and host your account with "HostGator". You won't have a problem with either one. I don't recommend giving out a free-e-book though. If you do that you will end up with a bunch of freebie seekers.

Then you have the task of converting them to buyers. The word on the street is make a video that's of value to your visitors. Some would argue the videos don't convert well.

That has not been my experience with my clients. You have to leave them with the feeling of being incomplete. So, they go to the next step.

      good Luck.

    I agree with James.

1- Use Host Gator to get a site or page, packages starting at $3.96 per month. Can't go wrong with that price and most likely it's just a promotion. The prices will go up later. They offer reliable hosting that's affordable.

2- Aweber is the best email software. They offer great support and the best tools to get your email marketing campaign up and running. Many features - too many to go over here. Yes you can try them for $1 for the first month. After that it will be $19.99 per month for your first 500 subscribers. After that the price will go up. If you are planning on staying in the game for the long run, pick the best and stay away from the rest especially the free ones.

Aweber also has many ready made optin forms that are very easy to install on your webpages. They have tutorials and tons of info to get you going.
