What are the Warrior Posting Rules & Terms ?

Hello Warriors,

I have done plenty of research on the warrior forums over the years and recommended it to my network...

But finally decided to become a member and become a contributor and get more involved in the community...

Can any experienced warriors sum up the basic rules for posting and being a member of the Warrior Forum....

I want to ensure I am in the guidelines and what all the options are...

I have already had posts removed and posts not show up and some with 10 or 15 replies from members removed also.... I haven't promoted anything, just asked questions !!

Is it Ok to ask questions about Marketing Gurus and their products or are they affiliated with these forums ?

So I am a bit confused about the guidelines and would really like some help from the long term members...

Any help or feedback on what you can and can't do in these forums will be awesome....

Looking forward to helping members and sharing great stuff !!

    Great links Tina!

Ok, here's my take on the fly:

Read all the stickies (rules) at least twice (see previous posts).

If your thread or post gets deleted, do not ask why it was deleted.

    Don't feed the trolls.

This is not a support forum, if you have a support issue with a vendor or another Warrior, try and contact them directly first. If that doesn't work try them a second time.

The Admin is not a support desk.

If you have a problem or issue with someone else do not take it up with them here.

Do not give names of specific marketers or products that goes against the forums rules. For example, you can ask what people think of XYZ product in the review section. You cannot make a post that flames or accuses someone of wrongdoing, even if it's true (there's this thing called proof and the mods do not want to get involved in all that drama).

Use common sense. I mean, really use it.

Do not post affiliate links here. No cloaking either.

In the WSO forum you are not allowed to try and sabotage someones offering. You can ONLY give feedback if you have bought the product / service and any review must be as objective as possible (yes you can use some hyperbole).

Don't mess with the guy with the Stetson hat.

Thomas B. and Zeus have the shiniest chrome domes.

No posting any black hat stuff here.

Don't post after you've had more than two drinks. Ok, maybe three.

    That should get you started.

    Oh, and coffee rules!

You are allowed to discuss Internet Marketers as a whole, but you are not allowed to name any particular marketer.

If you want to discuss a product, you can do that in the Information Product Review section.

          Thanks Mike,

for the clarification regarding talking about internet marketers...

It would have made a great place for learning the ins and outs of each marketer and hearing from real people who have used their products or had problems with their service and support as well....

Do you know of any forum that does openly discuss the top 100 Internet Marketers... I have been mentored by many of them and followed their works for many years now, but would like to see an open discussion happening about all of them somewhere online !!

Oh well maybe I start my own forum so people can have their opinions honestly without having them deleted and removed all the time lol

I will check out the review section, it sounds like this is the place to discuss products..... Thanks again for your help appreciate it !!

          Cheers

You are free to do that, and others have in the past. Griping about the policy, and deletions resulting from it, is not going to be a productive use of your time or energy.

We don't allow bashing of marketers as individuals. We also don't allow discussion of religion, politics, most blogs, or any other forums in this market. Neither good nor bad references. The topics are simply off-limits.

There are probably a few that I'm forgetting at the moment.

The main reason for those policies is pretty simple: They almost invariably lead to ugly arguments and irrational feuds. They can, under some circumstances, even lead to forum wars and similar stupidities.

The policy about not bashing marketers has additional reasons. Far too many "complaints" about specific individuals are based on poor communication, frustration, or outright malicious fiction. We often have no way of telling what's true and what's not, and we have no intention of helping someone harm an innocent person's business.

Are some complaints and allegations true? Sure. But we can't usually know, and even if they are, there's not often anything we could do about it.

The damage from false allegations would far outweigh the benefits of the few legitimate ones. So, we don't allow any of it, except in some rare situations in which we can really be sure, we can do something about it, and it's relevant to the forum itself.

Of course, then we usually just do what we can do and don't allow the bashing anyway.

Paul is a moderator, but beyond that he is one of the most respected members of the forum. Of course, some folks won't have anything good to say about him, but that's more about them than him. Pay attention to his words, he's a smart fella.

                  Clayton,

We have found a system over the years that works. One of the other reasons we don't allow bashing of other forums is that we don't have the only system that works. The fact that someone else does things differently doesn't mean they're wrong. Just that they're different.

In fact, we've got different systems in the various sub-forums here. People get away with things in the copywriter's forum they wouldn't be allowed to do in the other sections. There's a few good reasons for that. They all add up to, "It works out better for them that way."

While some folks won't believe it, we have reasons for every rule and every policy. They make sense within the context of this group. They won't all make sense in the context of another group, but they produce a useful result here.

That's really the goal. To produce a specific useful result - a place where people can discuss and exchange and buy and sell and do it all with some clarity about what's going on.

It ain't perfect, but it works.

Not a problem Clayton. Unfortunately I don't know of a site that does that, but if I did I would certainly be having a good look over the contents. I personally think it's a good thing to call out marketers who don't play by the rules, but this is not my forum and have no say in how the site is run.

    Clayton,

I need clarification, too! Just tonight someone replied to a PM I sent to them earlier today and was told that I was spamming 'him' because I offered my customer service skills free of charge and that in return I only asked for a link on his download page in exchange for my service. A technique that I just learned from WSO product I purchased and from a person that I believe is a well know contributor here at the forum. So if someone can tell me what is TOS for this particular issue, I too would be greatly appreciative. Thanks for the response.

This is for Paul to answer, I think.

But if someone I didn't know sent me an unsolicited PM offering their skills/service free of charge in return for a link on my download page, I would definitely regard that as using the PM system for spamming purposes.

I'm not saying I'd "report" it (and in fact I wouldn't); but I might well reply saying so, exactly as happened to you, it seems.

I hope and trust this isn't allowed?!

There was once a WSO on this very concept. The WSO was teaching the buyers to contact members of the forum via PM and offer their services to them. After reading through the guide, I promptly asked for a refund and told the seller what I thought of his dirty little tricks.
