selling amazon products using eBay??

Hey warriors,

I was recently asked by a friend of mine if it was possible to sell amazon products through eBay?

At first i was under the impression he was buying them himself, storing then listing the products on his eBay shop.

But it turned out what he actually was referring to was listing items then once they where purchased he would use there shipping address and other information and order the item himself then send to his customer.

I'm very new to the selling of physical products amazon and eBay etc so was after some information regards this kind of business.

Is it allowed? How could it work?

Thanks

From what you are saying I understand that this guy is an Amazon affiliate and listing the same products both on Ebay and Amazon. How can he buy his own products on Amazon and what about the Ebay fees he incurs each time a product is sold?

Please clarify. Thanks

He is not listing his own products. He was thinking of setting up an eBay shop where he will sell a product thats on amazon, once the product is purchased he will then ship the product to them via Amazon. Profit would be made by adding a small cost onto the Amazon product price.

Okay so products will ship directly to his buyer from Amazon? His buyer will know its from Amazon and not from his ebay account right? I think thats clever but not sure if its allowed. Also I am not sure if the buyer will report it to ebay if he or she found out whats happening.

No I'm still unclear on whether it is allowed or not and whether or not the buyer would actually reported. Even though they got the item may requested so will continue to look into this a little more.

I could deal with that. So lately, Ive been selling books. I signed up with Amazon with Prime shipping.. cost is 80 dollars per year, and you can ship your items free! I signed up 2 months ago with that and started reselling again on Ebay after a couple years not selling. I was doing pretty good! selling about 400 bucks per week. One of the pitfalls selling Amazon products on Ebay is lack of pricing control. I would copy and paste a url for an item. when the item sold, I would copy and paste the url, and never know if the price was going to be the same. I had to end numerous listing because of this. Last month, I was selling the triology of Indian jones. My price from Amazon was 24.99! I was selling so many, I listed a featured Plus lisitng. Then the next day, the price jumped from 24.99 to 42.99. this was a major blow to me. I had to end my Featured plus listing and lost 24.99 on that one.

Amazon sent me an email today stating I can no longer use there Prime.... another"bash to the head" The Amazon prime program is for your personal use, not to resell to others. So if anyone out there was thinking about it.. you might want to think again...Well, I had nothing else to do, but remove my 140 listings tonight *sighs*
From:eBay Guides - Ebay Power selling Requirements

The guy above was doing this, but Amazon eventually found out he was using his "Prime Membership" to ship items to the buyers for free, and they canceled his Amazon Prime Membership due to it.

I suppose you would have to have the items you ordered shipped to you first, and then pay shipping once more to send the item to the ebay buyer.

Edit: or the seller can create a second Amazon account perhaps without Amazon Prime and use that account to order things for ebay buyers with no problem.

This is called dropshipping, and according to ebay it is allowed:

Interesting from what I just read that sounds like this could be a good business. The only concern is that Amazon and allow them to be used as a drop shipping company?

I am unable to find anything on amazon.com, so I'm not sure. According to a yahoo answers post they do not allow it, but we all now how reliable yahoo answers it lol.

This is definitely allowed. There are a few people doing this already. But doing this will compromise the promise of passive income that affiliate marketing offers.

Looking into this i have not seen any problems as of yet, it does seem all OK.
I may look into working with my friend with this and see how things go, as we are in the UK i would limit what we do to the UK first then maybe think of expanding worldwide. Then possibly look at automating the whole process a little.

Re: selling amazon products using eBay??

Yes it would be allowed, BUT it is normally not worth the cost. I could imagine the reverse being effective. Buy it cheaply on Ebay and then resell on Amazon. Not the other way around.

**Unless the Ebay seller buys it on Amazon and has a high shipping cost on their Ebay sale, thus recouping the money from shipping. I wouldn't do it this way.

Ebay is a very bad place for a retail seller, who buys things wholesale. I've made a sizable bit of money on Ebay, but ONLY when I have gotten the products (typically used) for free or almost free. Nothing to lose that way.

I have an ecommerce business and sell actual products.

Hi,
Much has been written, but I still don't understand from this post:
If I sell any item from Amazon on Ebay, and I'm not a premium member on Amazon, can I ship this item directly from Amazon to buyer or not?
Thank you.

Re: selling amazon products using eBay??

it is against amazon policy to use them as a drop shipper. I know this for a 100% fact. I've have about 35 accounts closed by them and got into legal a legal battle with them because they close some accounts with open orders and wouldn't give me info on open orders and then refused to close other accounts and tried to charge me the renewal fee of $79 that the prime membership occurs annually(hidden in small print).

If you need any info on this call them PM me

If you ship products from you account to multiple addresses it doesn't take long for amazon to flag you and shut you down.

To get around this, you can use gift cards and rotate cards. Most the time Amazon can't shut you down in time but when they do, you are royally screwed because you can't tell which items have and have not shipped out and you will end up with a huge headache.

I shipped probably about $50,000 worth of products before i finally gave up the constant legal battle and headache.

I know a few things about ebay since ive been top rated for over 12 years.. but

I would personally do some research on the products or niche he is thinking about selling and see if there is any profit to be made. Search Ebay.. and see if the products he is thinking about selling are already selling on ebay for discounted prices and if so, take the difference and see if its worth it.

For instance if he is selling watches and he can get them on amazon for $20 bucks, and the same watch is already selling on ebay for $21 bucks... that would only leave $1 profit , minus fee's, so your looking at really nothing but a headache.

Tell him to go directly to a dropshipper and then list the items directly. He can go and signup for a site like shopster.com free and list the first 50 items completely free.

Pick your products, enter in your info, push 1 button and the products list instantly in ebay - all free!

Order comes in, he goes to shopster, completes the order, they ship it out from any addy or company name he wants. (shopster name left out so it looks like its coming from him)

To answer your questions about if he can do it., you would have to check amazon tos, but as far as ebay, sure it doesn't matter where the product comes from or is shipped from as long as the customer gets their product and there are no direct links in the ebay auction that would guide a visitor outside of ebay to circumvent fee's from a direct sale off the amazon page or product.

Personally it would have to have some good profit per sale, because your talking about fee's from ebay, fee's from paypal, time frame to get the product off amazon (shipping) if he is going to order it first, or if shipped directly to the customer - how to hide the amazon box - then you have to worry about a potential refund rate? Alot of variables to think about.

Im not real familiar with amazon, so you will have to do your research there, but ebay.. yes I know ebay pretty well.
Thanks.

It works like a charm and is perfectly above board.
