If I have lots of files that I want to give people on my website, what are my options?

All I can think of is:

i.) Upload them to my server and let them download from there
ii.) Upload to something like rapidshare, megaupload, etc.

I don't really want to upload to my server because of bandwidth issues (tons of files)

And I'm not sure about the whole rapidshare thing (never tried it), but would there be a way to block other people from downloading? I guess they can only download if they have the link?

Any other options I have?

I think I can buy 'storage' right? Then just dump everything there.. ?

Another option is to use Amazon S3 to host your files
because their servers are reliable and the bandwidth
    costs are minimal.

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) (no affil.)

I'm gonna nail my vote to Amazon S3 too. Safe, effective and quick (or so everyone says).

A lot of people are using Amazon S3 to host their files and videos. I never use them so I can't give you more details but I think you pay based on usage.

As for blocking download, anyone who has the link can download the file. However, there is a product called DLGuard who can protect the download link. Search for DLGuard in this forum and you should find more info.
