How do i split a text file?

I have a text file with 100,000 twitter usernames in it, one per line.

I need to save it out as 50 text files, each with 2,000 usernames in it, is there a tool i can use to do this??

    This will do it:

    GSplit - File Splitter - Split Any File - Split Text and Log Files

    I just tested this and its a bit confusing how to do what you want to do. Setup your split like this :

        Looks like it is all taken care of now, but just in case. I would have just opened it with a text editor that numbers the lines, and then copied and pasted each 2000 into a separate file.

        Notepad++ will do that job.

          I love Notepad++ and use it all the time. But your suggestion would take over an hour, figuring about a minute for each copy, paste and typing in new filenames.

          Simple.

          Take the dogs down to the lake, put them in a burlap sack with a few bricks and toss them in. Then tell the kids if they don't behave, they're next.
