Need advice about building an Amazon store

Hey everyone I hope this doesn't come across as a stupid question. I did some searches on building an amazon store here on the forum, but I didn't find what I was looking for so I am hoping I can get pointed in the right direction.

I have a few review sites of amazon products, don't have much traffic so not many sales, what I am looking to do is build an Amazon store but I am kind of confused how the best way to go about doing that would be.

Would it be best to use the templates that Amazon already has or are there any free plugins that would help me do this?

I would most likely be using the thesis theme simply because I want to make the site look nice, and I am alright at customizing that theme.

Maybe I just need a brief explanation of how I should be going about this.

I could be asking the wrong questions but if anyone has any experience with this and could help me out that would be awesome.

Thanks

Andrew

Wow I am looking for the terms and conditions for the aStore and there are some things in there that are over my head and I am just not understanding them. It is a bit intimidating I would say.

But I am going to read up on the link you added there. Thanks for the info btw.

I am guessing you would have to constantly update your widgets though? What I am looking for I think is some form of data feed that automatically updates the products, if that makes sense.

Use the Amazon tools val suggests. Then...

A simple way to structure a store is to have separate pages for each category of merchandise and then sub pages for specific items. Then you can drive traffic to the main page or to specific offers within the site. The key is still driving traffic, no matter how good the site is!

ok I think I can do that. The only problem I am having is that I looked at some astore examples and it seems many people just use sub domains from amazon and don't actually have a domain of their own. I guess it may work for some people but they all look the same and I kind of don't want mine to look like everyone else'

It could be that I am envisioning something that isn't really possible. It sounds as if astores don't do so well on their own, but do better if they are an add on to a site that is already built.

Thanks to both of you and I really like the suggestion on making pages for catagories and then sub pages for specific items. Driving traffic though is something I need to work on badly.

Now that I am thinking about it maybe an aStore isn't really what I am trying to build. I am trying to figure out if I can design a costomized webside about (add keyword here) and then have some sort of feed that updates the product for sale.

    Product Advertising API maybe?

I am sure there is some sort of coding I have to learn, so I will keep looking into it more.
