Do you create video originally by yourself or just edit other hot videos?

I see many damn videos on youtube which some are not original by themselves. They just download others and make a bit of change on them. Then reupload.

Do you create your video originally or just edit others? If you edit others, did youtube suspend your account or remove your video?

You will be appreciated if you can show me a way step by step.

It seems original content is always the best way to go. I use original content and borrowed/edited content but should probably focus on making my own.

    • I make my own videos using photoshop (yup it can be done) and that other adobe product for making vids (forgot the name lol). As for step by step you should be able to find some tutorials online. Explaining it would take forever. It is simple but if you do not know what you are doing then it would be really complicated.

I create all my own videos and spend pretty much all day doing it. It's either I'm working on a video to edit/compile/upload, or recording a Webinar and getting it ready to upload.

Yes Youtube does care and I have met a lot of people who have lost accounts from doing this - I would advise you NOT to steal people's videos to use yourself - even if other people are doing it.

Remember what your mom used to say - "if they jumped off a bridge would do copy that too?"

Stop looking for the easy way to create value and just bite the bullet and create your own new stuff that people will love because it's original.

YouTube doesn't like copied material so I would suggest your own material.

Animoto is a great tool to use...just be original.. that always works best

I found that when you create your own videos, users get more acquainted with you and your product in a more personal level.

Just like I did with vBulletin's youtube channel.
    YouTube -

I've increased subscribers from 100 to 330+ in less than 3 months. Been getting great feedback from customers.

Don't rip off other people's videos, no matter how hot they are! You can make your own and pigyback off of the popularity off hot videos by using a similar subject/keywords.

I've been doing my own video's (slideshows actually) and they are horrible because I don't have a slideshow program that allows music OR doesn't have a .wmv, .avi, etc

Does anyone know of a free program that is easy enough to use but can incorporate music/voice and will download to youtube.

I've made 13 video's (I think that's the number) and each time I did it they immediately went to page 2 of google in competitive keywords. Other than give them a daily ping and put them on a satellite site thru Squidoo, I don't know how or what to do with them from there so they continue to climb or effect my main site?????

The link of great joy and happiness...but this one? This is the one that all window cleaning companies in the free world are inspired by. Hey, where did the sarcasm font go?

It is never advisable to use or edit videos that are not yours. One excellent resource to consider for making videos is Fiverr.

You can get pretty decent videos made on a wide variety of topics. And for God's sake NEVER hire anyone to do video testimonials. Your credibility instantly goes down.

If you are looking for Powerpoint type Camtasia videos, below are a couple of good resources for you.

frlane: I will do a screen capture video of your website or software for $5 at Fiverr.com

Well, downloading and using other people's videos to make your video is commonly called copyright infringement. Even though a lot of these don't get caught doesn't make it right. Just create your own content, that is always the best way. And make sure to watermark your videos in case someone tries to steal your video You may want to check out this thread for more info

That is copyright infringement. Do it to the wrong person and expect to pay $250,000 per instance of theft. Not a good idea.

Show you a way to steal, or a way to make your own videos?

If it's making your own, then I really like Jing (not an affiliate). You can use it to capture still images as well as video. It's pretty easy to learn, too.

    All the best,

It's definitely better to be yourself and use original content. This, of course, applies well beyond Youtube.

    Hi,

Copying other videos bring down your image and reputation for sure.
These days almost 70-80% viewer know what they are watching and if you're copying someone's matter actually you're harming yourself instead of gaining from video marketing or advertising.
Best way is to be original. Doing yourself or hiring pro is a different question.

    Cheers,
    Ed

Even if I weren't sensitive to copyrights, there are reasons I wouldn't use someone else's videos.

First, they aren't mine, and won't work with my branding.
Second, they don't say what I want to say.
Third, editing time to cut up somebody else's video to make it say what I want takes waaaay more time than just making one myself.
Fourth, if it isn't in my voice, or one of my employees, it isn't my branding and company. People come to recognize your voice (rapidly, I might add) and know the difference. Your customers are not stupid.
Fifth, (alluded to in the third point above) you can make a new, fresh video in pretty good time. Once you are comfortable on the microphone, you can make a video in about the time it takes to record it, or at most, the time to create a series of slides, then record them with your voiceover.

Of course, even if none of the above applied, a video (or mp3, or program or pdf) is the (usually) intellectual property of someone else, and using it without their consent is illegal and plain wrong. I know there are parts of the world where the concept of copyright is just plain ignored, but this doesn't make it right.

We all have our own level of ethics, and there are some people that don't seem to care at any level. I can only hope that the concept of "karma" catches up with the bad guys...

    Original is always best,

I've found it's ok to upload others content if you edit it significantly, audio, clips and your own content mixed in.

If you want to turn articles into video, Powerpoint (or OpenOffice Impress) and Camtasia is the best way to go. You can use CamStudio to record the videos and Windows MovieMaker to edit them at a pinch, but I find Camtasia more versatile. Be sure to make your videos interesting and don't weigh the slides down with too much text.

I offer this service if you're interested, see my sig for more details.

Why would someone even consider using someone else's video?

It just undermines integrity and demonstrates far more than the video itself in terms of character and how you play the game.

From a customers point of view, why would they trust you?

It's one thing to be a referer of great video content to your viewers, but a whole different thing to use someons video and claim it as your own.

Make your own videos - with the right tools and toys it's SuperEasy!
