[Increase Conversion Rate] - I Have 80 - 100 Visitors a Day to My Salespage, But They're Not Buying!

Hi guys,

I developed this product myself, but I have not opened it for public affiliates (for affiliate marketers in Clickbank). This product is the first of its kind (for the game) on the Internet.

Traffic: 80 - 100 unique visitors a day
Traffic sources: YouTube, Facebook fan page, SEO (5 keywords ranking in 1st page Google), tons of relevant blog manual blog comments
[so I can say traffic is highly targeted as well, I don't see any untargeted traffic problem here]
Sales: 1 so far
Price: $14 (showing $27 is cancelled with a strikethrough)
Period: It's been 15 days now (so you can see the conversion rate really sucks!)
Niche: Gaming
Product type: Ebook (guide, tips)

I've been sending visitors to the salespage directly. No opt-in, no list building, no freebies whatsoever.

The salespage is really short too, almost like the very typical, basic affiliate marketer's salespage that is preached by most affiliate marketing gurus (because less is more, simplicity converts, but in this case, it's not!)

ClickBank Product?: No, not yet. My logic says, if my salespage can't convert, why bother being a vendor in ClickBank?

How can I increase my conversion rate?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Bonus: I will thank your post lol.

Hm it seems like you could benefit from some better copy! I suggest investing in a good copywriter, it's always worth the money.

Or maybe there is just no demand for your product? But I guess you are getting visitors so I still say improve the sales pitch.

That would be my first move. There are some good warriors for hire that have decent prices.

Ok thank me :p (lol kidding)
Try buying banners on gaming forums, that may help

I would have to respectfully suggest against putting any more money into advertising until you increase the actual sales conversions.

It doesn't matter how many visitors you get. If your copy wont sell then it's pointless to drive more traffic.

Tweak the copy and see if conversions increase. Maybe there is something clogging up your sales process?

    Yeah, that's the thing.

Spending on PPC and banner ads are out of the question right now. Besides, I've got the moolah (targeted traffic from free traffic) already.

How the heck do I improve the sales conversion?!

I guess I am going to build an opt-in form to get names and emails.

Then give them a freebie (day1, day2, day3) then finally pitch the final product, e-book.

I've heard that this can increase conversion rate.

    It's time to buy aweber...

      That is a good plan
      Day 1 - Free Cookies
Day 2 - Free Peanut Butter
      Day 3 - Free Pasta

Day 4 - Buy a Happy Meal for $X only

You'll end up building a responsive list in the process

Pardon my sense of humor, its different

First it would really help to give you a few little pointers on your site if we actually knew what the site actually was. But as far as increasing the conversions you will need to test multiple pages to see which one/s converts the most.

Its one thing to build a site and bring targeted traffic to it. If that traffic gets lst on your sales page and leaves there will be no sales. One thing that may help though is add in a few videos on your particular product to your sales page. People like to see things in action before they purchase anything.

But it is really hard to say where the problem might be when we do not know what it is you are actually working with.

My 2 cents- Change the price tag to $17 , its a buyer's digit. Every tiny little tweak adds up.

If you want, you can send me a PM and I could take a look at it and give you some FREE advice. Have you tried going all the way through your sales process to make sure there isn't a snag somewhere?

It could be that your sales angle is just not working and the copy should be positioned differently. I've studied quite a bit of copy and while I'm not claiming to be an expert, I could certainly tell you if it was terrible (not saying that it is!).

Well, the entire sales process consists of sending people to a short bit of copy.

The fact that that's it, is likely the problem.

There's a lot more that can be done to improve this. Pre-selling, creating a list, giving away some useful information to gain trust.

There is a lot that can be done here.

Yeap. There's no snag elsewhere, thus the 1 sale.

      Hello Calfred,

One of the things I learned very early on was the need to test everything.

Do remember, this is just 15 days and that's not enough time to get despondent about not seeing results, you should be proud of yourself for taking action.

You have 80-100 visits a day, so you can do a nice bit of testing. Firstly though have a think about what problem your product is solving, why does your target market need it. I would definately consider writing and testing new sales copy, different headlines and calls to action.

There is a lot you can do and the one thing I don't see you doing is testing different things to find the best solution. You're just sending them to a sales page that is short. I've never heard any guru's saying short sales copy is best, if anything the opposite. You are not trying to create a list, can you encourage them to buy the product with follow up emails?

You need to be testing what works and what doesn't. Forget what guru's tell you and find out what is best for your niche, by testing and seeing for yourself.

Im actually not surprised at the bad conversion rates with this niche.
The gamers you would be targeting already know how to use the "internet."
Nowadays with most games having a very strong community that does theoryocrafting and writing up guide. IE "Leauge of Legends" "WoW" both very different genre but still has a strong "Info" community behind it.

    Wowhead.com
    Leaugecraft.com

As a very avid gamer myself I would have to ask can I find this information for free else where? 99% of the time the answer would be yes if all you are giving is tips and a guide.

For instance some WoW guides offer an addon included which is basically the guide ingame.
While some just offer an ebook with guides copypasted from forums.

Mind telling me what game your ebook is about.

Unless its a specific niche of gaming I would even advise not starting an opt-in list. Unless you yourself is a leader type form in the actual gaming community you have no rep to go ahead with. Quite frankly if you were so no named nobody going on an official game forums and telling them to sign up for your list I and a few others would laugh.

    Game / Your sales page?

I'd advise you against getting married to your product and going out splurging on aweber. You may have a dud niche/ dud product, aweber probably isnt going to fix that.

I won't disclose the actual game here publicly, but it's a Facebook game with millions of active users. Hehe, but it's not FarmVille.

Have you promoted FarmVille Secrets yourself? I heard from other forums that the conversion rate is not that great. But they do make a good amount of sales though.

    My suggestion...
    1. Turn the traffic into lead instead selling to them...
    2. Give valuable tips...for 7 emails and each email have link to sales page.

Research showed that, human being most of the time will buy from those they trust...
so build the trust through mailing list.

    All the best.

    Hi there fellow Malaysian (RajaKamil),

USD is pretty yummy for us huh. haha.

I'm pretty much set on building a list and offering freebies. At least that's what I wanted to do.

Reason for this thread was to confirm my hunch. Thank you guys. Thank you all. I appreciate the borrowed experience.

Have you done the self test, basically go through the enter sales process and see if the process would close you down on a sale. If you wouldn't be convinced on buying then maybe others aren't either?

I'd also get stuck into analysing some statistics and find out where people are dropping off, from your sales process.
