Question about sitemap

Hi,
Sorry if this may seems trivial, but do I still need to submit my sitemap to google webmaster tool although I have installed the xml sitemap plugin on my new wordpress site? Thanks

    The plugin doesn't "make" Google crawl your site. It just makes it easier for Google.

    I get different thoughts from different SEO folks. Some say don't submit your sitemap...let Google find your site (pages) and index them naturally (from backlinks).

    Other people say it doesn't matter, go ahead and submit your sitemap to Google.

    Nowadays it's so easy to throw up a link on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and get indexed, I just let it happen naturally.

    Yes - you should verify your site in Google Webmaster Tools and submit your sitemap.

    That's the advice given in Google Webmaster Guidelines.
