WTH, Is there a Bug in the WF SYSTEM??? Have you seen this? Try it and let me know!

Hi Warriors,

Has anyone else had this happen to them.

Here is what just happened.

I clicked on the Your Notifications link under my user name at the top right
of the forum and then clicked on Incoming Friend Requests and then
instead of being taken where I wanted to go I received this instead.

I broke the link above so as to not give it any link juice.

After I exited out of the opt in form then it took me to one of those,
"Oh Wait" dumaflogers that you have to chose Cancel or OK.

Once I escaped I was then sent to where I was trying to get to in the first place.

Could Allen be testing something?

It kinda caught me by surprise. If so, so be it. If not then something could
be wrong?

I am 110% sure my system has no viruses or trojans.

Not to say that FF didn't have some type of data fart.

Just asking, Has it happened to you?
If you tried it just now did it happen to you?

Thanks,
Have a Great Day!
Michael

Tried it but went to the correct page.

Maybe a browser redirect virus on your computer?

    Cheers,

    Neil

Edit: just noticed your comment about having no viruses so who knows?!

Mine worked fine, but I am using chrome.
sounds to me like you have a browser hi-jacker though.

I had that page open the other day after clicking a link here. I can't remember if it was that link though, and it only happened the once.

Try it again and I bet it doesn't happen.

      Colin,
Can you confirm that it is the same page I listed above?

I may need to report it to the Help desk.

I tried logging out then back in to see if it would happen again but no cigar.

      Thanks everyone,

I'm sure it was, and I had just received a friend request at the time. I clicked it and up it popped.

You are forgetting the other possibility, though. Maybe we both have a virus. I have done every check imaginable but still, it is a possibility.

Had you just clicked on an incoming friend request?

Hmmm. Two to whatever external site and one to a WSO? The latter suggests someone may have been exploiting a bug in cBulletin that we haven't seen previously. May.

If anyone sees this in the future, please send me the username of the person sending the friend request? That might yield clues in figuring out what's happening.

            Paul,
I didn't receive any friend request that prompted me to check.

I've been trying to get caught up on things I should have done weeks ago.
I just happened to check out the 14 requests sitting there.
            (Sorry Possible Future WF Friends)

Anyway, Now that you know about this do I need to report it to the Help Desk?

            I don't want to waist T's time.

            Have a Great Day!

Once my browser just out of no where redirected me to a wso in the special offers section.

I was just like you are now, wondering if I had a trojan or if there was testing going on....

    Two theories:

    1. Site in question is an advertiser on WF, and you mis-moused and clicked on the ad by mistake.

    2. Your computer have been taken over by a celestial being known as 'vundo' and the only way out is refortmat and reinstall from scratch (yes, it is that nasty). To make sure this is not the case, manually hijack your browser to redirect it to symantec's website, and get a free virus, trojan, and malware scan. Do this now.

Let me know how you get this resolved.
