The right of way of doing it?

Hi Warriors,

I wanted to know what is the right path to follow when it comes to article marketing?

Question: Should I submit the same article to different article directories without any changes or not?

Question: Should my main website articles and the ones that have been submitted to article directories should be word to word exact?

Your advice is highly appreciated =)

    Hey,

Actually no, you should change your articles around if you can. The reason is that google will bash you for copying content so it won't optimize as well. You can use an article spinner to change it around easily. Just search for "free article spinner" on google!

You really should have a different article for every directory or page you publish on. Google does not like duplicate content.

But sometimes the question is if it makes sense for every project to invest so much time to write so many articles...

oh for bloody hell's sake - stop propagating this rubbish!! google does NOT penalise you for duplicating content and you are fine to publish the same article to multiple sites.

I do it, and my sites rank because of it.

          so STOP IT!!

"Duplicate content on a site is not grounds for action on that site unless it appears that the intent of the duplicate content is to be deceptive and manipulate search engine results."

that statement from google is not nearly detailed enough to make any assumptions, and yet people do...

It really depends on what you are using article marketing for. I take a three pronged approach.

I take an original, well written article and I:

    1. Post it on my site: Goal is to engage reader and establish credibility/get a sale or an opt-in; build site brand.

    2. Shorten it a little and post it on Ezine Articles (Ezine lets you post articles that are on your own site). Goal is to get real targetted readers to click over to site for more info.

    3. Then I use a program to spin the article into 50 other articles.

    4. I take the 50 articles and post to other article sites. Goal for #4 and 5: backlinks and SEO

For 3 and 4, I have found in my personal experience that having unique TITLES is most effective. If you do not have a spinner, the next best thing is to come up with 20 different article titles (all keyword optimized with different relevant keyword phrases) and rewrite the article just once and use that same article to post to 20 directories- using different titles (software can help or outsourcing).

I agree with Amy. There seems to be a lot of debate on this, but spinning is really NOT necessary. Just put different article titles and use different keywords if you are trying to optimize for more than one, but other than that, just get the articles out there. There is no "duplicate content penalty"

I'm trying with few completely unique articles in most popular article directories, though Ezines are quite slow about approving, still waiting for approval, quite annoying I would say, I want another articles link to this, so I have to sit tight and wait when big guys from Ezines will condescend to look at it.

My personal approach (which has lead to Google Page 1 success for some of my niche sites) is to only publish unique articles on my main site. I never, ever redeploy these elsewhere. I'm not convinced this is 100% correct, it's just what I do for what its worth.

However, in terms of backlinks what I do is this:

    1) Write a 400+ word article
    2) Submit it to Ezine
    3) When it has been approved by Ezine (usually a few days) then use The Best Spinner to create spun versions (I try to tidy up the automation here so the spun output reads well and the article is of good quality).
    4) Submit spun versions to Web 2.0 properties (Squidoo, Hubpages etc) and other article directories (Goarticles, Amazines, etc)
    4) Load the article (in its spin format) into Unique Article Wizard and Article Marketing Automation to distribute copies to smaller article directories and blogs around the web.

I found that the disadvantage of step 5 is that many of the article directories and blogs that your spun article gets submitted to are extremely low authority and 60-70% of the articles failed to get indexed by Google (as far as I can tell anyway).

However, step 5 does give you a lot of low authority links which I think you need to for your "link profile". E.g., if you just have a ton of PR3-4-5 backlinks then this looks very suspicious to Google!

Sorry for not answering your questions directly but I hope this helps a little.

I would "spin" the wording so that it looks like a new article to the different directories. Otherwise, good luck writing a unique article to each directory or having the directories accepting the same article.

You can submit them without any changes.

    That is fine.

Most of these people don't know what they are talking about. Don't listen to everything you hear or read.
