Another Duplicate Content Question!

Hey Warriors,

I've learned enough to know that you can submit the same article to diff directories, and syndication is obviously a good thing. You can as well post it to your own blog or site as well. Therefore duplicate content is largely a myth....

HOWEVER
you can't post the same material on your blog or site "more than once" because if you do, you
then you have a clear case of "dup content" OK so that's clear

Here's my question;

I have multiple sites/bloggs on the same IP, because I have them on a single host at the moment. It's a shared host, but no biggee

Can I place the "article" on more than one of my sites? I ask because my sites are on the same host, therefore "same IP" can that be construed by google as dup content?

because the article would then be displayed
more than once on the same ip? I might even put it on
3 or 4 of my sites, all same host, same IP,
yes they are different domains, but still I'm concerned......

Anyone really know the answer to that?

thank you warrior mates!

    If those different blogs are interlinked together, Google will see a real relationship between them, and see through the ruse.

    However, the different Class C IP for SEO is largely a myth created by web hosting companies looking to sell higher dollar hosting. Just one of the Yahoo Business web hosting IP addresses holds 40,824 websites on it.

    Everyone know that Yahoo is hosting accounts from different domain holders on that IP address, so if the Class C IP penalty really existed, sites completely unrelated to each other would be penalized for linking to each other, even if they were linking innocently.

    Using the same article on several domains is not an issue, if those domains do not have an obvious relationship with one another.

      thank you

      @tarheel
      @tpw

      I see and understand what you mentioned about hosts and the same IPs being used. Maybe that's the reason someone seems to get "bounced off the 1st page of google and suddenly they are 30 pages back for their keyword", because by mere coincidence they happen to share the same IP with a completely unrelated site, who is owned by someone totally different as well, but just happen to post the same or a very very similar article or post on their site?...

      OK I'm kidding, but couldn't you correlate some type of argument if you say that "google would figure out your ruse" if in fact the tie-in is the same IP and a similar type of post?

      if what you're saying it true, couldn't one make that argument?

      I mean if we are going to extrapolate couldn't one formulate such a general syllogistic argument that would have to apply to any similar situation?

      well that is not truly my question, but it does "bounce around" in the back of my thoughts

      back to the main point

      So you feel that their would be other "indicators" rather than just the same ip, and as a result you feel that google would soon enough realize I have it on more than one of my sites and penalize me?

      anyone else on that point? (tpw you clearly are far more experienced as me, and I sincerely appreciate your purview. I thank you that someone of your experience is this helpful)

      Dano~

      (on second thought "syllogism" may not be an accurate portrayal of the dynamics, perhaps more of a "corollary")

    IPs cost 1$ a month, if this is a real project just get another IP and don't worry about it. You shouldn't be worried though, one copy of your article will always get indexed, the rest will show up in the supplemental index as worst case scenario.
