When I first started out I bought Frank Kern's Instant Internet Empires. Big disappointment! Not only did it seem like everyone and his dog was reselling it, but it landed its creator in a whole heap of trouble with the FTC.

Therefore I would avoid anything that: a) might not be legal and b) promises more than it delivers.

Few years ago I bought one "guru" product ( will not mention the name here) on a big launch.

The price was $197 include physical 2 CD's with templates and some products of this guru, after that I will continue paying for a new CD each month (also shipped to my home) for X (I don't remember the monthly price).

First of all, the product take almost a month to be shipped. Actually they charge for the second month and the first one was not shipped yet!

Then I read on several forums that other customers had exactly the same problem, and when they finally received says the product was crap, and yes , it was.

I received the product 1.5 months latter and was very disappointed, I cancel the monthly charge (I never receive the second CD even when they already charge it) and never ever will buy nothing from this person again.

        giseo,

There is one main thing that disappoints me about most IM/MMOL products; when the product doesn't live up to the hype. This is usually after some huge "product launch" too, so theres LOTS of hype. The sales copy was filled with promises of making money within hours. Then when I got the product, it was nothing more than a "how to" in basic internet marketing...the stuff any of us would know if we'd been doing it for more than a few months. Or another one had promises of making money exploiting a "secret" loophole when it was neither a secret, nor was it a loophole. And it was impossible to make any money at it.

The other thing I HATE is when the "product" is nothing more than a series of videos that you CANNOT skip or fast-forward through. More often than not, these videos are filled with wastelful droning and useless explanation of how great the product is. Meanwhile I'm stting there tapping my foot, waiting for "the good stuff," which, more often than not, never comes.

Hope that give you an idea of what to avoid.

Of the things I LIKE, I want to mention Incansoft (RSSBot, BlogBot, SocialBot, IndexBot, etc.). I am NOT an affiliate, by the way. They make useful software packages, for a VERY resonable price, designed to automate many IM tasks. They are short on hype and long on delivery. Quite the very opposite of the ones I describe above. You get something useful right out of the box that does what it says it does.

        Good luck with your product.

        Ken

When I first started out I bought an eBook for $50. It was 12 pages long and explained the "technique" of direct linking via adwords to clickbank offers. Don't do that.

Before you say anything about me though... it was a REALLY good sales page.

Some years ago when xsitepro first came out, I found it really good so when Paul Smithson did a very hyped up audio books program, I jumped in and I was really, really disappointed. I spent most of my budget on this program and i had to start with zero after that.

Later on when Paul came out with a very good updated version of xsitepro, I simply refused to look at it. If he were to start another program, I wouldn't touch it at all.

The point is that he should not have over hyped his program so much so that most of the members felt cheated in the end. He could have helped by keeping some communication lines open and maybe even offered his new version of xsitepro to members who had lost thousands of dollars.

Keeping the goodwill is really important. If he did, he could have sold me many other products.

I bought the first XFactor book... and even though I was able to generate success with Adsense the ebook was full of holes. I did fill them up and get on with my business but when his second book came out I didn't even consider buying it.

Also all of the promises that he made in the meantime and left undelivered as well as the people on this forum saying how he mislead them or tried to avoid giving refunds.

I think that losing respect is very easy in this business so make sure your product and actions are solid.
