To me, the idea of internet marketing has always been a bit of a grey area, that most, including myself, tend to stay away from. Only until today did I realise it's seemingly true, full potential, by discovering this forum.

However, as a 19 year old British citizen with almost no money, I wonder, how exactly do I start?
However, what I do have is a lot of time. I am currently on a gap year waiting to go university, I have 7 months to do nothing!
I was pointed in the direction of this forum from a discussion about Amazon product promotion, and further linked to a product for $97 dollars on how to get started, I believe it was made by the member on here Neil V.

Can anyone help me get started? The problem I find with websites such as these are that I feel newbies aren't really catered for. Obviously we were all once a new member here, but I have very little knowledge of what goes on on this website, and feel a very intimidating presence amongst it's members, I feel that the knowledge of the majority outshadows people like me.

I thought this was the best place for this thread as there seems to be no sort of introduction subforum or anything.
Thanks!
#start

I actually think these forums are more for Newbies than people with experience. Most people with experience don't share their true money making methods. Look, you are going to have to have a little money to get started. Some things you can't do without are going to be hosting, domain names, and autoresponders like Aweber.

Then you can choose whether you create your own product (and post in the WSO) or use adwords or SEO.

Or are you going to market other products such as what you mentioned with Amazon or promote Clickbank, etc.

All are lucrative if you do it right, but you are going to need something to get started. Though small investments, almost nothing, these things are going to help you build a place to send traffic. Then you need to find ways to get traffic and convert it to sales.

Oh, I should note as well that just about EVERY course on affiliate marketing is the same BASIC strategy, so if you buy one, just stick with that one. The strategy goes like this:

    1. Look for a niche by researching keywords (google adwords keyword tool is free) Look for keywords that have low competition, but relatively high searches

    2. Once you have a keyword, pick your niche

    3. find a product or several products within that niche to promote (Clickbank, Amazon affiliate or other affiliate network)

    4. Build a site or blog around that product including articles and product reviews- good information that people want (how do you know what people want? Look for forums in that niche) Include affiliate links to products

    5. Optimize for your keyword on your site (include it in the header, URL, tags, content etc) This is called "on page SEO)

    6. Create backlinks by creating articles, by social bookmarking, creating videos, social networking etc. You are basically PROMOTING your site and telling people about it wherever you can and telling GOOGLE about it

    7. This will get traffic to your site from people reading and hearing about it as well as increase your position in google. Obviously your goal is to get to #1 in google for your keyword. Then people search for the keyword, find your site, click on your links, buy products and you get paid.

That is a VERY basic layout. If you hang around for a bit and ask questions, it will make more sense as you keep going. Hope this helps!

    1. Be a War Room Member
    2. Learn and find your niche
    3. Don't leave that path until it makes you money

    First of all, welcome!

With that out of the way, in my honest opinion, the best money you can spend on this forum is by joining the War Room. It'll be $40 for 20 years worth of membership!

Inside that sub-forum you'll find plenty of guides and how-tos, freebie software and tools, etc. to get you started.

The good thing is you said you've got an entire 7 months. I suggest join the War Room right now and spend 1-2 weeks going over some of the threads there.

Oh yeah, there's also the "List of All-in-One" threads right at the sticky section of this main forum. That's a great resource as well.

I'm telling you from experience, once you read a bit and familiarize yourself with 2-3 different money making methods, pick whichever sounds best to you and do that NON-STOP - laser focus is key here.

Lastly, if you've got the money, I would invest in some type of coaching. I wish I would have learned this when I first got into this about a year ago. Would've saved me a LOT buying WSOs and other stuff.

    Best of luck!

  • Welcome to the WarriorForum. Let's see...

You're most likely a native English speaker motivated to learn everything it takes to build an online business from the ground up,
then run, grow and expand it to a point where you're running it from the top down as a
    passive source of income...

    1. No money? Make it. How?
Offer research and writing services here and in other forums focused on topics relevant to Internet marketing and online businesses
among other things you can do, such as graphics design, video development and so on...

    2. No samples of previous work? Make them. Think it'll go to waste as samples? Do this:

Go to Constant-Content.Com. Sign up as an author or service provider. Look at project requests posted by buyers...

Do the projects you find interesting. Contact the buyers to show them a portion of your work...
They will buy it if they like it. Otherwise: Let it sit there and use it as samples, or try selling it to other potential buyers...

    3. No IM knowledge? See number 1 above. You learn useful things while doing number 1...

After some time: You have money, knowledge, experience and client resources providing you income for your services...

Reduce the amount of time you provide services to your clients...
Substitute it with hours spent working on your online business and the implementation of everything relevant you learned...
