ClixGalore network: I had to file a complaint with the FTC about their business practices...

Hi,

Is anyone else having similar problems with this merchant / affiliate network? You see, they state that there is a payment threshold of $50 - which means that even if you try to close your affiliate account with them in order to get paid in full, they tell you that credit balances which are less than $50 will NEVER be paid.

This is ClixGalore standard reply:
"Balances cannot be combined, or paid out if they are below the payment threshold. The balance will remain until the threshold is achieved."

I don't think such business practices are sound... so, today I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) about ClixGalore and their business practices.

What is your view about it?

    I am trying to get this outstanding issue sorted out by contacting directly the merchant for whom the affiliate sale was generated. When ClixGalore found out about it, they phoned the merchant insisting that they are a "reputable company".
    And they also told the merchant that I am "being difficult" - can you believe it?

    As the merchant wants to help sorting out this problem, I suggested that he should request ClixGalore for the PROOF that they are a "reputable company", i.e. to prove that they did pay the affiliate (me!).

    I'll keep you all informed about the latest developments and how to deal in similar situations that might also happen to you, in the future.

      My personal opinion - there is no honor amongst thieves. Based on my personal experience with ClixGalore, I will NEVER have anything to do with this outfit again, either as an advertiser, or as a publisher.

      If you are doing any form of affiliate marketing, STAY AWAY FROM CLIXGALORE!!!!

    My opinion is that it's theft, plain and simple. Payment thresholds should be in place to keep a merchant from doing a lot of bookkeeping for small amounts of money, but if the threshold isn't met within say, 6 months, then it should be paid out regardless.
