Hello, I'm new. I apologize if this is a stupid question but I thought I'd be able to get the quickest and best answer here. Is it against the law to use your affiliate link to purchase a CB product in order to honestly review it? Also, how easy is it to get free review copies of CB products?

No its not against the law. Why dont you just email the product owner and ask for a free review copy? More then likely if your going to be promoting his product he will send it to you free of charge

No; it isn't against the law, and it isn't against Clickbank's terms of service, either.

Overall, it depends how you ask. I realise this is an unhelpful answer, but it's true.

If the vendor's reaction to your email asking for one is that you're someone who might sell 300 copies, you're probably going to get one with no problem. You have to "sell yourself" and what you've done before, explain why their product is potentially relevant to your existing market, show them what you've done before, list the relevant domains you already own in their niche, and outline your proposed marketing plan for their product if it's suitable (in detail: don't just say "article marketing"!), preferably asking one or two intelligent and appropriate questions at the same time, and making yourself sound like someone who doesn't take on a product unless he's planning to sell hundreds of them.

Not so easy if/when you're "new", obviously.

I had a review website up and running to show the vendor,
out of about 60 or so times I've asked for a review copy, only
    1 had rejected me.

So as long as you can show that you are promoting for them,
I think you will get your review copy at least 98% of the time.

That "at least 98%" is judging from my own statistics above.

Thats interesting. I have never thought to ask as I thought not being a guru type would mean they wouldn't bother. I shall try this in future.

You don't need to be a "guru type": just to sound like someone serious who has (a) a genuine interest in a good product in that niche and (b) a potential marketing plan to sell a significant number of copies. Put yourself in the vendor's position: they'd perhaps rather give one free copy than lose you, no?

just ask the vendor, if you tell him/her that you will pomote it if its any good then they will most likelky let you have a copy and if its actually bad and they know then they will probably say no which just mans it wasn't worth buying in the first place.

It's totally not against the law or against any kind of rules!

You won't be able to withdraw your earnings only after you sell to more people than just yourself, so that's why Clickbank doesn't worry about it
