Does this tactic still work?

Here's my strategy for a gameplan to try out... $50 investment if I set up five of these gems.

1. Create a 20-page report on a desperation-based topic (5 hours).
2. Write a short and sweet sales letter (1 hour).
3. Create a simple image ad and text ad for affiliates to use and set up an affiliate page on my site to display them (one page for all affiliate stuff, so a one-time setup). (1 hour)
4. Buy a domain, set up to be a simple one-page sales letter site. (1 hour)
5. Set up the product at Digiresults (probably) with 70% affiliate commissions and configure download process, etc. (1 hour)
6. Write three short and useful articles for Ezinearticles that link back to my product to drive a little traffic and test it out until affiliates discover and promote it. (1 hour)

Ten hours to get the site up, running, and enjoying at least a little traffic. Now the most important part... does this tactic still work?

What is the price point of the product?

If it's only 20 pages long, I'm guessing you won't
price it at more than $20, in that case, I really
doubt affiliates will promote it at 70%.

I would be giving 100% at that price point.

P.S. I have recently finished a manual priced at
    $19.97, it's 128-page long, packed with a lot of
my 2nd degree strategies, some even 1st degree.

So, a 20-page, I really doubt how much you can
sell that. But then again, I have seen books
sell at $47 with just 60 pages, the information
has really got to be REAL great.

I'll probably price it at $27-$47 depending on the niche. As for awesome content, that would definitely not be a problem. If it ends up being longer, so be it, as long as everything in it is top-notch and there's absolutely no fluff.

Might even consider letting your affiliates use your articles as PLR, or writing a few more specifically for that.

For the amount of time that you estimate it would take to try it, I would take the shot.

Cool, I'll do that! Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm definitely going to do it once or twice and see how it goes.

You should - and I look forward to reading updates!

You make it sound very easy. I think the truth is that it's relatively easy for you, because of your unusual combination of excellent writing and essential technical skills. For the overwhelming majority of people, this would be no trivial matter at all, and their overall chances of success with it nowhere near the same league as yours.

            Go for it!

    Go for it - absolutely.

You make it sound so easy though. Not sure how "Digiresults" works, but I don't think that attracting affiliates will be as easy as you think. Not even close.

Let us know how it works out.
