Yep... the subject line in the email said: $25 Million In 30 Days! I instantly went in to "BS Detection" mode and clicked the subject line just to see what the latest doofus email was going to be about. Some mom that found millions in her kid's closet? Some housewife who generated millions by sending envelopes? Some lottery junkie that had finally beat the system? Some moron swearing they saw it on Oprah so it must be true? Nope... John McCain ... trying to increase campaign contributions (NO clue as to how I got on his list) So I'm wondering: Why didn't the standard spam filters just kill this message? It's got dollar signs, dollar figures, etc... all "spammy" words. How many other IM'ers are going to receive and open it out of curiosity? Is that a good thing? When did it become OK for presidential candidates to spam?!? Will this make the 10 o'clock news? And finally.... I thought: Man, I have to share this with the Warriors! (Funny stuff in my book) |

I wouldn't assume it came from the campaign. It could be a supporter doing it without the campaign's knowledge, or someone supporting another candidate trying to stir up trouble. As for why it didn't get filtered, what filters are on your email account? |
