How would I monetize my blog if I was writing for 'entertainment' value?

I was originally writing from the 'advice' perspective but it soon dawned on me that my posts were becoming really generic and conformist probably not only for myself but for my readers I imagine too cos everyone has done that.

I used to get alot of attention when I would write troll/flame posts on forums. This isn't to say I deliberately tried to provoke ppl (though I often did) but rather that I wrote whatever I felt like and had the idea that others would fall in line to my views. Over time I noticed myself refining my technique and 'persona' such that I was gaining popularity for a certain internet character I created.

Now at the time I was only doing it for my own self amusement and would often be in hysterics while writing it.

Since I got into IM and was trying to do the 'advice' tip I noticed myself dumbing myself down considerably on these same forums resulting in my realization of how dry and generic my posts were becoming.

So I was thinking if I went back to my sensational writing style how would I still monetize it? I couldn't as easily directly promote products from that angle cos I was basically just railing against people and acting crazy and acting the fool. I would admit my incompetence in my posts and people I think would find it entertaining for that very reason as most do not like to admit their faults.

So I can see myself easily developing this style and attracting interest for it cos I find it really fun/motivating and I think it is a USP in itself within my niche but how to still turn a buck from it?

Be yourself and all will follow suit. If people can relate, you just need to find a niche. I talk about rollerblading and all my skateboarder friends love it. You can't please everyone, even if your name is Ghandi.

I think you guys miss my point. I'm not asking what content to write, I have that from life experiences but how would I make money from it?

I don't think I could directly recommend products in the same fashion I would do if writing a classic 'review site'.

Think of tucker max (I hate him but it's the closest example I can think of to give some idea) type thing...how do you monetize from that? I guess writing a book eventually but in the meantime, like adsense or what?

I think you really need to provide better information here. What kind of "persona"?
What kind of market? What "type" of reader is reading these posts?

I would suggest with the limited info you provided to align CPA offers with your rant.
For example..... if you are commenting in an IM forum about a particular product, you could then "suggest" if they REALLY want something that ACTUALLY works...try "this".

I would suggest "creating" a product by modeling others work like Eben Pagan who wrote all kinds of dating for men books. Match that product to your "persona" and push it.

If product creation is not your thing, then perhaps CPA dating offers... just a thought.
