Using your money to HELP KIDS at WalMart

You know...I walked into WalMart today and there was a tree when you first walk in. The tree had cards placed on it as ornaments...

What it was is a a lot of children who can have a better christmas with help.
All you do is take the card off the tree and take it to customer service and pay for a gift for them. They write on the card what they really want. So you are actually getting them something they have asked ol Santa for.

If your local WalMart is doing this and you want a really really good feeling...and if you believe in Karma and want some really good bonus karma...do this.

I grabbed 3 from the tree and I never felt so good spending money.

I don't care if WalMart is making money from it or not...I know some kids will be really really happy.

I use to buy almost $100 worth of toys for the children from the Salvation Army tree. However I stopped that because I found out that Salvation Army is practicing religious discrimination and sending high paying lobbyists to the Washington for influencing laws that favor discriminatory agenda.

Hmmm dunno anything about that to be honest.

I just see a "help Kids" and I am sucked in...
can't stand to see kids go without. Mine are spoiled and rarely appreciate anything I think...
So I just feel good knowing these kids really will.

For those who feel as this chap does: Simply go down to the local post office and tell them you want to participate in 'Operation Santa Clause'. It's the same thing except the Salvation Army isn't the middle man in the process.

Great idea 8) I also do not believe that they are the middle man for this WalMart deal here. I believe this is local per the store...they distribute them to the parents of the children.

This could very well just be our local WalMart as they do things community wise often here.

I not longer contribute to Salvation Army for the same reasons as were pointed out above. The religious proselytizing via direct mail and otherwise got to be too much, so I stopped donating to SA years ago.

I contribute to local charities and work in local soup kitchens here in NYC.

We don't have Wal Mart here.

    Zerofill:

I don't know where you are in upstate NY, but if you are anywhere near Central New York, I know WIXT (Channel 9 ABC Affiliate) does Operation Good Things for kids in the hospital -- gifts, etc.
