Article Alley May Be the Slowest Place to Get Your Articles Approved.

I've had articles pending for 3, almost 4 days. Every other directory in the top 20 got them approved within a day or two. Just thought I'd give a heads up. Even Buzzle was quicker with an approval of 2-3 days. Oh wait, I just realized Associated Content has been going on 3 days too.

Just curious, are you writing to all these directories for backlinks? Or for traffic?

Article Alley is pretty much the same site as Article Heaven, isn't it? Every time I submit the same article to both of these sites, I get an email from one of these sites saying they already have that particular article and that I should knock it off.

This is the second week for my article at Article Alley and it's still not approved yet

Update: I checked today and my article was approved.

I submitted my article 14 days ago and it's still in "pending" mode.

I am not sure what the problem is. It's a totally unique article with zero backlinks except for the links in the byline/footer.

I am going to send them a quick email to follow up.

    Beat ya!

I had an email a few days ago, to say an article I'd submitted to some "directory" was accepted.

I submitted that article well over a year ago, during the days when I used to mass-submit for (crappy) backlinks.

What surprised me more than the time it took to approve/reject the article, was the discovery that this directory was still alive and functioning. Typically, directories of "that type" have a very short lifespan, indeed.

If you think 3 or 4 days is a long time, try submitting to Article Dashboard. I've got 4 articles that are still waiting to be approved, and I submitted these ones back in November 2010!!

It's their loss because I no longer use them, and I suggest you do the same if it is such a big issue. There are lots of decent article directories out there that will approve your article in 1 or 2 days.

Had the same thing happen on Article Dashboard. In fact, I had even forgotten that I had submitted anything to them until 3 months later, when I got an email saying my article had been approved  Imagine how many readers (and potential profits!) I missed out on while my article was "pending" for 3 months. To me, that's simply unacceptable.

James is right... there are plenty of good article directories out there that will approve your articles in a couple of days (which I'm fine with. I like the fact that they take some time to do their due diligence and keep the garbage off)

If you're looking for other places to submit your articles, go through this list. It has the top 50 article directories, as sorted by traffic and page rank. Try some of the top ones; if you don't like them, try some more.

Who cares how long it takes?

Well, actually, quite a lot of people do. And a very small proportion of them have for a valid reason for it, too.

I suggest submitting your article to at least a handful of the "better" directories and then be completely unattached to any specific one of them-- There is almost, quite literally, nothing at all you can do about it and continuing to check on it / getting frustrated really just wastes your time (i've been there!)

The simplest answer is usually the correct one.

We had a spam problem between September 2010 and March 2011 with up to 250,000 articles being submitted each week - its taken a very large amount of time to filter through them leaving just the good ones for manual review.

Sorry to users if they had any hassles as a result
