Any magento users here?

I have an e-commerce store running on oscommerce, and it has been for going on two years now but I am considering switching to the magento platform.

Any magento users here? I am pretty impressed my the functionality and of it, and I love that its open source. I'm getting pretty sick of the "clunkiness" of OSC.

Plus there are some badass themes available for magento that make simply arent available without having some custom work done in OSC.

I also see there is a simple contribution with magento that allows you to seemlessly migrate OSC which makes it even more appealing.

Just curious if there are any others that are using Magento... I really haven't heard much buzz around it but it looks pretty awesome

I've been working with ecommerce sites for clients for about 5
years now. I did look at Magento when it first came out and passed.

Based on all of the research I've done and the all of the ecommerce
Google allerts I subscribe to I would suggest you buy a domain
and use it to play with Magento's free 30 day trial first before you
    move your whole site over.

If you are using OSC you know ecommerce sites are not easy.
It's my understanding that Magento is even harder if you
    are not a coder.

BTW, Magento Modules, is posting in most of the the threads
that have anything to do with ecommerce. He just posted
this morning in a thread that was from 2009. Notice he is
posting a link right in his post, just saying.

I personally recommend it for my clients. Magento is so powerful it doesn't limit you in anyway + it's easy to extended with it's modular architecture. I wouldn't think twice about making the jump from oscommerce to magento. I did 3-4 years ago and haven't even thought about trying oscommerce again.

^ And that's the starting price for one year license, I don't know if you need to renew after a year.

Well, there are many cheaper/free alternatives to it. PrestaShop, Zen Cart and a lot more.

Me I used IP.Nexus. There's also a good one: SPBAS Business Automation Software | PHP Licensing, Client Management

A few years ago I posted links to about 250 ecommerce stores
      here on the Warrior Forum.
I never thought about looking at Wikipedia!
Both of those that you posted look kind of cool.

If anyone else besides you and me is reading this go look at
IP.Nexus and all of the other IP.XXXX things you can get to work
together, the niche communities you could build with that, wow.

      Nice find IMFury.

I used IP.Nexus because you can almost have everything you want because of their awesome integration.

Before IP.Nexus I used vbCover's iCart but because of vBulletin's chaos I have to move on and choose between SPBAS and IP.Nexus and after almost two months of deciding Nexus got it.
