New Feature For WSO Owners - What do you think?

Warriors,

What do you think of this additional feature for those of us running WSO's?

On each post you make on this forum, other users are able to click on your username and view a drop down menu that includes several options such as 'View Public Profile' 'Send a private message', etc.

I believe in this menu should be another option for those people running WSO's. There should be an option that says 'View My Current WSO' or something like that. We can then choose on our profile which WSO we would like people directed to when they click that link.

I think it would give people a much fairer chance of attracting more people to their WSO as well as encouraging those users to keep posting content of high value on the forum.

Yes... No... Maybe...?

    Will,

Not a bad idea....just seems kind of redundant.

Most Warriors are already linking to their WSO's in their signature's...

Just kind of seems like overkill.

    Just my take.

I think it would be very helpful. I don't know how many times i have been told about a good WSO and they can not remember name of it. This way all we need to know is who wrote it. Then would become very simple to find. Excellent idea, cheers.

That's a 'yes' for me. When I like a particular product, I am usually looking for more products to buy from that person. This will save me the time from looking through all the posts of the person. However, I also suggest an option to exclude closed WSOs or a way to only choose the WSOs that will show. I don't want to click on a link only to find that a WSO is closed or copies have ran out.

Having recently posted my first WSO I can quite easily put it in my signature and have done so, but moving forward or for warrior's with multiple WSO's I think this is an excellent idea.

I know a lot of people will post links to their WSO in their signature but you can only put so much information in your signature and people seem to be forever changing the info in their signature.

This way, if you are liking what someone has to say on the forum and think you might be interested in looking at their WSO, if they have one available, you know exactly where to go to find it.

As another person mentioned, there have been times I have seen a WSO and when I have come to find it again a few days later, the only way I could track it down was by going through all the threads started by that user - not a very sensible solution.

Just seems like too much work for not all that much benefit.

It's safe to say that 99.9% of Warriors running WSO's have the links to them in their sigs.

Also...I can find all the WSO's by a user with WarriorPlus.com's WSO Tracker...go there and type in the Warrior's username....and you can see all their WSO's.

Not saying it's a bad idea.

Just saying that it doesn't seem like much of a NEED.

Would it be kind of nice to have? Sure, I guess.

But is it really worth the effort to implement it?

        Personally I don't think so...

I already know exactly where a Warrior's latest offering is. I simply look under their post and see the signature.

What you are proposing would just be a way to add an extra 'hidden' signature field, that people could choose to look at.

I have purchased many WSOs purely on the basis that the Warrior's post demonstrates that they appears to know their stuff. However, I am not sure I would read a post, and then set off on an investigatory attempt to locate said offer. If it's there I'll click it, if it isn't I wont.

I think doing you 'due diligence' refers to checking whether an offer is made by someone that knows what they are talking about. Not to finding intelligent people and then researching if they are selling anything of interest.

    Cheers,

Well if this were true then I guess we wouldn't all have massive view counts on our profile pages. People who learn from your posts will often be curious enough to go and take a look at your profile page to see what you are about or what else they can find out about you. This is a perfect time for them to be able to see what WSO's you have produced.

I think if someone is going to market their product on a marketing forum (key word here being forum) they should put it in their signature. That is where I look after seeing a post.

That's the BIG problem with your idea. If I use that dropdown to look at previous threads you've started or previous posts you've made....it shows a list. You don't get to dictate which threads are shown.

If that WSO option were added it would show the full list of WSO's a seller is running. In some cases, that would be instructional.

      Will,

One other point to bear in mind is that only those members signed in get to see the drop down menu; whereas all drive-by visitors can see your sig.

I would like to see this feature come in to being. Great addition for the user, still many of us have their current WSO in their signature. Still a bit more exposure could not hurt right?

Why would anyone say NO to this?

If you're a WSO owner, you should want it to be as simple as possible for people to find your WSO.

If you're a WSO buyer, you should want it to be as simple as possible to find good WSO's.

    This is a great idea.

It's not a horrible idea, just seems like something that isn't really NEEDED.

I wonder if those suggesting it would be willing to put their money behind it....?

My guess is that would change things.

It already is about as simple as it gets.

Put it in your sig....which happens to be right below your post.

Unlike what is suggested, in a spot many Warriors wouldn't even bother to look.

It's pretty simple to find WSO's these days...they are everywhere and just about everyone has one.

I find it interesting you said "find good WSO's"....how would this feature help anyone determine whether a WSO was good or bad?

      It wouldn't.

Not trying to be "Debbie Downer" here...but personally I think Allen and everyone else here is pretty diligent about keeping this place on the cutting edge.

I just don't think this feature would do that. I really think if it was implemented....hardly anyone would even notice.

Not a bad idea, but I think that it'd be kind of redundant... Most forum visitors wouldn't ever think to click on your name for a list of your WSOs (they all look at the sig.) and those who are really interested in finding your other threads can always do click -> "Find all threads by...".

I'm not going to vote. Not only because I don't respond to public polls (nothing personal), but because I fall somewhere in the middle.

While I wouldn't vote for this feature, I wouldn't mind if it was there. AND IF (a big 'if') it was implemented, I would most likely use it. My thinking is that it would allow me to promote a specific WSO when needed.

There may be some practical issues in making it happen, and it wouldn't matter to me one way or another. But, if it were another avenue for promoting a WSO, then I would take advantage of that avenue.

    All the best,
    Michael

That seems like an excellent idea. If someone likes your post, they'll be able to find out more about you, including what WSO's you're offering pretty easily. Great idea.

I could be wrong here, but I think this may add unnecessary complexity to the forum interface without yielding much tangible benefit.

As has been stated by quite a few warriors above, the savvy ones in the know already make good use of their signatures to highlight specific WSOs that they have (and this is a boon especially for some that have already released dozens of them, and only want to highlight a specific few in their signature).
