One of my new domains is on first page of google (position 7)which is good but after I wrote an ezinearticle, the ezinearticle is already in the 10th spot on first page as well...should I be worried? The article is basically a copy of one of my posts with a link to my homepage in the author bio. Since ezine has high Google Page Ranking and all that jazz , could it overtake my main site? How do you prevent your web 2.0 sites from stealing thunder from the main site like this? Should I be writing articles in unrelated niches instead but keep the author bio link for my main site? thanks

Link your ezine to your web2.0 and build more links...

never put articles on ezine articles that your are trying to have your site rank for. Also, outof the two articles google, alot of the times, will think Ezine is the original source because of there authority.

If your EZA article has initially appeared below your main site, it's unlikely that it will go above it. Unless of course you build backlinks to it, or other people naturally build backlinks to it via social bookmarking/syndication etc. Just keep adding content to your site, building backlinks and you won't have to worry. In fact, if you consider holding 2 places in the top 10 of Google a problem, that might be a problem in itself

It can overtake your main site, yes, especially if your own site is new and/or doesn't have much content ... but that'll be temporary.

The more often you do this (i.e. submit to EZA something already published and indexed on your own site), the more temporary (i.e. the briefer!) it will be, and after you've been doing it regularly for a while, it won't happen at all.

    You're doing the right thing.

Nooooooo ... there's no need to do that at all. There's a big discussion of your question in this thread.

Keep doing what you're doing, and you won't end up being one of those people whose own site can't even outrank an article directory. (By the way, EZA's "rank" is not so high ... in spite of its PR-6 home-page, your articles there are non-context-relevant, PR-0 pages: it's easy to outrank them, in the long run ).
