Twitter advertising: Magpie, etc

Does anyone use Magpie, BeTweeted, or other paid Twitter advertising to get traffic to your website (specifically if you display ads from CPA networks or traditional PPS/PPL affiliate marketing on your site)? Have you had any success with it?

I've only seen bad reviews for these services so far, but admittedly I've only been able to find reviews from the Twitterers themselves who use those services to try to make money while they tweet. The usual reviews are that they have lots of Twitter followers, but almost never have anyone click on the Magpie ads or the ads don't even show at all. I haven't found reviews by the other side of the coin, advertisers who pay to have their ads shown on Twitter, which is what I'm considering doing to get more traffic to my CPA-based site.

    Sorry for the bump from my initial post a couple days ago, but absolutely nobody has any input on Magpie, Sponsored Tweets, or Betweeted (or other Twitter advertising)? No one here has used them as part of an advertising strategy? Thanks for anything you can contribute here.

      I tried most of those social media ppc services, and they didn't work too well for me. I was only able to get max 50% of my investment back. Also, it seems that I received many fraudulent clicks, as the users who tweet want to get paid more, so they arrange for some 'clicks'. I tried offers that I tested somewhere else, and they convert at 30-40%, well with social media ppc services they only converted at 2-5%.
      In general, it is very likely that some offers would work with them, but it will require a lot of testing to find the ones that work.

        maybe this is a silly question, but similarly, does anyone do well with their regular tweets? I have a few of my blogs set to autotweet with onlywire and spnbabble and I get absolutely no traffic from twitter. Then again, i never go in there to get personal. I find it a pain to communicate with people in that format, even with 3rd party software. Just wondering how people are doing with it these days.

          I have 2200 twitter followers, and I get about 60-90 clicks to my links every day, posting 4 links a day within my niche topics, and 1 post a day to my blog.
          But to be honest, this number is not growing.
          When I had 700 followers, I was also getting about 60 clicks a day. More followers, same number of clicks. Engagement level is not growing.

          p.s. I actually outsource my Twitter management, like you say 'to get personal', I don't have the time.

          Now, Facebook is whole other story. Getting way better clickthrough!

            Oksana, I kind of thought it was going that way. Too many people unable to talk directly to eachother makes it kind of difficult. Facebook is so much friendlier in that aspect. Good to see it working for you.

                There is no need to use Magpie. A large part of our traffic generation is twitter based. We have found that it is definitely a good way to "introduce" people to your site. You should definitely set up a few "fan twitter pages" and get it all automated with Twollo, socialoomph and twitterfeed and you will find that you are getting hundreds of quality leads daily.
