CPA Offer vs List Building

Hello, I need some suggestion, if I have a wonderful free ebook, and I want to give it away for free, which one is better for it to be monetized?

1. create a landing page that has a subscription form, the user fills his name and email, confirms his email and get the free ebook, I get a lead.

2. create a landing page where I put a CPA gateway, the user fills in a survey / an offer and get the free ebook, I get commission.

3. create a landing page with a subscription form, after the user confirms his email, he's taken to a page to fill in a survey then get the ebook or the other way around.

Which do you think is best? Personally, I will hate option number 3.
Which is more important, use CPA offers and make cash instantly or list building?

    Hmmm this is quite the interesting question..

    I would do number one and three because they both use number one, which has been ingrained in most peoples minds as not only accepted, but typical and expected; ESPECIALLY when you are getting something for free, because nothing is ever TOTALLY free, asking for a little effort isnt even viewed by the masses as an inconvience anymore.

    I would say 3 because as i stated that a little time is a small cost to pay for an ebook full of valueable information. (if you explain this simply and nicely im sure that they will be ok with a survey ((short and sweet)))
    I think that the survey is valueable because you get TARGETED leads. and you can filter through all of them for more specific targets as you need

    I'd go with option 3, as it combines the best of both worlds. Don't make filling in the form a condition to get the ebook, do it the other way around instead. Remember that you can promote additional offers now that the prospect is in your list, so remember to provide value and don't just overwhelm your list with offers to fill out.

    I like the idea of reversing it, giving them the ebook then asking for email.. it sort of filters through the people who arent interested in getting tons more info from you.. that way every address you get will have a higher likelihood of converting

    Here's another thought...

    Don't forget to put links in your ebook!

    You can use it to promote a related product or service. In fact you can link it to a domain that you own and just redirect it to a product that you want to promote - and then down the road you'd have the ability to alter the redirect without having to change the links in all the distributed ebooks.

    So maybe --> Form --> Ebook --> Link to Domain --> Redirect to CPA

    Or as others suggested --> Ebook download link --> Thank you page with opt-in --> email with cpa link (as well as ebook link to cpa)
