Newbie Question again. So, I've started building a list and have even made some money. Loving it! I want to promote some affiliate stuff on my blog - once I have grabbed the banner or packshot and created the text hoplink (in this case a Clickbank one) - how do I put the two together and stick just the banner or product pack shot on my blog but with it operating as a clickable affiliate link? Sorry - I know this must be a very very dumb question! Thanks in adavnace for the help. Will |

Use this HTML code as a widget on your blog or in a post: <a href="http://youraffiliatelink.com"><img src="http://www.site.com/yourbanner.jpg"></a> Replace the first URL with your affiliate link and the second with the URL to your banner (upload to your server or an image hosting site). |

Hi, here's my favourite page whenever I'm dipping into a little HTML - I keep it bookmarked in it's own little folder. Basic HTML for Squidoo |

Hey Will- not a stupid question at all! That's how we learn... You need to insert a link on the image. Here's how: At the place in your blog where you want the image to appear, and if the banner or image is on a different server use this... Code: <a href="http://YOUR-AFFILIATE-LINK-HERE"><img border="0" src="http://LOCATION-OF-THE-ACTUAL-IMAGE-HERE" alt="KEYWORD-DESCRIPTION-HERE"></a> Code: <a href="http://YOUR-AFFILIATE-LINK-HERE"><img border="0" src="FOLDER-NAME/BANNER-NAME-AND-EXTENSION" alt="KEYWORD-DESCRIPTION-HERE"></a> Hope this helps... Hey everybody, I had exactly the same question today when I was trying to create my first Squidoo lens for affiliate marketing purposes. Just one quick question, by "image hosting site" do you mean a place like Photobucket or Flickr? Is there a particular (free?) host that someone could recommend that will serve as a host for affiliate banners? Do some places not allow you to use them for affiliate banners? I am new at this just like the OP. Thanks!!! -Keith |

OK, I just found out that Flickr specifically prohibits website banners being stored on their site, but I haven't found anything on PhotoBucket that specifically says one way or the other... Any help out there? Thanks! -Keith |

i guess it would be better for you to host your image on your own server.. makes more sense that way if you are paying for your own hosting. otherwise, just approach your affiliate manager for support... she/he will be able to help you.. |
