Hi everyone

I have recently set up a spreadsheet tracking everything I am earning with my affiliate sites. I have added a column to work out the percentage growth (positive or otherwise) based on the raw sales figures.

I wondered how many of you do this, and what sort of growth you see on a month by month basis? I have projected (i.e. guessed) a 50% growth each month which will theoretically bring in a full-time income by December.

50% might seem a little generous but February is already up by 400% over January (however, I did only start in Jan).

I love writing, designing, being a general tech geek... but I always struggle with my forecasting. So again - how many of you project growth in this way and what sort of numbers have you had/do you expect?

(Obv you don't need to give specifics as it's your business afterall )

Well I don't do percentages but I do do spreadsheets. That is a good idea to incorporate a percentage column. Thanks.

I Personally don't but after reading your post, it's probably a good idea to do this to keep track of results etc

i find it may be the best way to accurately predict future growth if you can use previous figures to base it on. i dont have enough history to do this yet though, both those who've been doing this for 6+ months might benefit.

I never actually tracked sales as you have here. However I may start just out of curiosity. Sounds like you have thought ahead on this and should work out well for you. I normally do not have the patience to just sit their can crunch numbers. Even though my old job as a land surveyor that is basically all we did all day.

to be honest my spreadsheet is VERY simple, it just tracks sales (value and volume), works out a revenue change and then a forecast base on previous changes. literally 3 columns.
