How I Made 27 Cents With 128 Hours Of Work!

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

This is a marketing test and you are part of my experiment.

If this thread get's a lot of views it will confirm my suspicion. Namely, that swimming against the tide gets huge open rates on emails. Higher open rates obviously means more eyeballs on your offer and usually more money.

I noticed somebody was advertising their article writing services...the headline said:

"We offer the SLOWEST Turnaround Times EVER"

or some such thing. The thread got a great response and a lot of buzz (I later found out their response time is really not bad!)

As email marketers we're all facing the problem of email saturation. Nothing makes you stick out from the crowd more than saying the exact OPPOSITE of what everyone else is saying.

So if everyone in you're niche is using headlines like 51,896.54 in 2 Hours!
Try a headline like the one I just did above.

If everyone's email box is stuffed with: "Lose 126 Pounds in 2 Days"

Try: "How To GAIN 126 Pounds in 2 Days" Or "How I Got My Acne To Spread Like Wildfire!"

Then obviously tie in a story that's relevant to the headline and artfully work your way into the offer.

I have not had the guts to test this yet (I'm such a wimp!) but this thread should offer some guidance about how well this tactic works and if it does....Go profit from it!

I'm gone for the weekend. I'll check your comments later and any questions about my WSO will be answered on Monday!

Have a great one!

Mike

I clicked on the thred coz I could relate to it. Back when i first started IM i would put those hours in for less profit than that. Caused by jumping from idea to idea and never finnishing any of them.

Somebody asked if $2/hr was an ethical wage to pay someone. Employing myself for hundreds of hours work and zero income isnt ethical.

Humans are naturally intrigued by negative statements. Didnt Frank Kern play on this a while back with some product he launched. After that my email inbox was swamped with subject lines like "Frank Kern Sux" "Frank Kerns new product is a scam" bla bla bla. People are more intrigued to know why he sux rather than why hes so great.

    ROFLMAO!

Guys: the secret to twenty seven cents in 128 days method is simple. Provide one cent of value to one person every other week. Rinse and repeat until your goal is met.

I would recommend providing 27 cents of value to one person but you don't want to overextend yourself, especially when you are just starting out with this "system".

Or you could just scan the coin return at snack machines until you find a quarter and two pennies which could easily take you 128 days.

This thread was just a pre-launch for my new WSO 100 ways to make 27 cents in under 200 Days! It's normally priced at a dime but will only cost a nickel for Warriors for a limited time!!

In any case thanks y'all for the kind words and proving this little experiment a success.

For those who said: "it's a good idea but won't sell"...or "open rates don't increase conversions"

I just want to remind you that the purpose of the subject headline is NOT to sell. It's to get them to read the email. The more people that read the email (ALL OTHER THINGS BEING EQUAL!) you WILL sell more of your stuff.

Great stuff Mike, at almost 1000 views so far within practically no-time, you have proved your test works... very well in fact.

After seeing what everyone wrote in their replys, I was just thinking, if you did use this particular tactic as an email campaign, I would definitely include a hilarious story... the comedy factor definitely works.

Give them a laugh, then show them the offer...

It's a related idea for sure. But FK didn't really give too many specific examples on how to do it which led to everyone sending out emails that said "Bad news". People have trouble tying that in to the actual offer. So here's a way you can get that "Bad news" effect in your own creative way without being misleading.

Yup. This is what we call in the business the "Wow. What the heck!" factor.

On this this headline it's a 9. Tellman Knuedson's emails are a 10. And most of the other threads run somewhere between a 4 and an 8.

People not reading your emails? Work on your "Wow. What the heck" factor and your problems are solved.
