Legitimate Uses for Bidding Directories?
There was a time (c. 2007-2008) when some people bought links so they had a pagerank 7 site, and then sold links to the highest bidder. Basically, the higher you bid, the higher your listing appears on the page, and you had to be in the top 10 or so to make the first page. This was the basic idea of a bidding directory, and basically they were selling pagerank to the highest bidder.
Now let's suppose you have a high traffic site, and you just sell placements to the highest bidder, but maybe the site doesn't even have pagerank. Could you see this or any other uses for a bidding directory that is legit?
