What do you do to maximize facebook exposure?

Ok,

I've set up a facebook page for one of my products. Doing some testing with it to see what kinds of results I can get, so far have 5 people that have liked it/posted comments.

a) What do you do to 'maximize' your facebook exposure? (I.e., get people to post/comment?)
b) How do you utilize the 'like' feature to its fullest? (My understanding is it it not as effective as it once was, because too many people were spamming -- so how do achieve similar effects -- i.e., getting new facebook users to view your page, and in turn, like it, then (ideally) purchase your product?)
c) Have you used discussion forums on facebook? Any pros/cons?

Thanks!

John

Maximize facebook exposure by participating in a natural way and being generally interesting.

Facebook is a social network... the purchasing of products and service by those who friend you will be a natural secondary as a result of you participating socially in an interesting and natural way. Participate in natural business discussions sharing things of interest or use in your niche... this might be limited in scope to your specific niche, or it may expand into your daily research, activities, and lifestyle... just make sure it matches what those who friend you generally are expecting, want to see, or might be interested in or they will simply block you from their feed.

I'm no facebook expert... but common sense has given me these impressions as I have been interacting on facebook.

Also realize that it is far more challenging if you simply think of facebook as a lead generator... you should focus on developing relationships with other business owners who have captive audiences, subcriber bases etc. that might be interested in what you do and who might "like" something that then gets exposure to their group or who might promote you as an affiliate outside of facebook.

Here are some tips, Perhaps you have implemented some of them already

    - Add a landing Page to your fan page ( There are many free ways to do this try checking out Pagemodo)
    - Get inspired by some of the other big brand facebook sites - Check Coca Colas and Starbucks for example
    - Have a good call to action so people will like your page such as "click like to recieve free tips, and advice on ....."
    - Suggest your page to all your friends
    - Pay others of fiverr to suggest to their friends for $5 (I have got quite a good following from this)

    Hope these help
