I am Sending to My List Everyday...What Is Your Email Marketing Strategy?

At the moment, I am sending to my list everyday...But before you say "oh no....you should not be spamming them", I want you to know that I am not. See, I have different lists and most of them are in different niches. When I mail to them, I will send them content + an offer. I do not send them 'offers only' mail because I know that will means high unsub rate.

Typically, I send them those hybrid mails every Monday, Thur and Sat. Every Tues, Fri and Sun will be adswaps (relevant to what they subscribe for) and every wed will be my weekly newsletter.

Now that you know my email marketing strategy, please tell me more about yours?

I'm sending a broadcast every 4 days with useful freebies and content and then every other broadcast I send useful content/freebies as well as a related offer, I run 5 lists in different niches and use the same format acroos the board with related content for each.

I hammer all my lists every single day with hard selling promotions, but also include exclusive content, freebies, jokes etc. Been doing it for years and it's not an issue, as long as you set the expectations initially beginning with the opt-in page. But, that's just me.

It's different for every niche market I am in.

For example, I email my web design list like every day but I only email them with offers once a week. So that's 7 emails in 7 days with 1 promotion.

On the other hand, I email my muscle building list every 2-3 days with a workout tip or something but I only send them offers every once in 14 days.

It all comes down to testing and doing what works best for you.

As this thread illustrates, there are many ways to do list marketing. Some marketers are more "hardcore" than others, but as Paul mentioned above me, it's all about setting expectations early. Some of us are nurturers and some are all about the sale. Nothing wrong with either approach. It's YOUR business - do it the way YOU prefer!

I go with mostly good free content early on, then slowly mix in sales pitches, then it's mostly combinations (hybrids).

My only real "rule" is to share when I come across something I think is worth sharing, and pitch only when the product is something I truly believe will help my subscribers. But that's me... doesn't mean you have to do it that way.

    It's all good!

    Hi there

I suppose it depends on what you pitch to your subscribers when you get them to sign up.
If you offer daily tips then sending them an email once a day is no bad thing.....but if you haven't wanred them and you bombard them with stuff then you will get some people knarked off.....but then they can just unsubscribe.

As long as you keep a monitor of your lists and see the effects it has then go for it.

I sent only once every 60 days. I run a special offer on directory listings and the conversion is fantastic!

Everyday. Incredible content with a hard-sell close. Buy or get off my list, I WANT them to unsubscribe. Don't waste my time...because I'm giving them incredibly helpful content.

If you deliver excellent genuine content that clearly helps your audience you can email them 2-3 times a DAY and your open rates and CTR won't fall. All you'll do is increase your income.

Don't believe the "don't burn out your list" nonsense. If you're in a desperate niche and you frame your emails properly you can get away with murder.

It's all about the quality of the content.

The thing I like about e-mail every day is that it gives you a better opportunity to test different headlines to see what works.

I know Mike Geary emails every day and he said his sales went up 15%. But once again, he gives great content first.

Haahaa...Yes, I like that approach too. The key is to give them quality content. Actually, even when I mail them everyday, I realize that there is no sharp fall in the subscription rate. It is pretty steady....

I guess different niche works differently and it is important to find what works for you.

I send to my list every 4 -5 days. I guess it depends on how responsive your list is and what they like.

excuse me, its not the area am keenly in. Can someone tell me how you guys send these 'bulk' mails to the 'Opted-in Subscribers'? Madmimi? or your lists short..i.e., less than 1k people....free email marketing?

      @businessmind

We are of course talking here about double opt-in lists only. Bulk emailing can also be very effective, but requires very specific experience and using targeted lists.

To build up opt-in lists quickly, consider using solo-ads to targeted ezines. The JV forum has tons of resources to help you.
